Totally agree about the coaching and would point out that Chan was held accountable - and fired - for his crappy offense.
I don't have any info on the intelligence of DL recruits, as compared to other positions. Are they more or less stupid than the same-sized guys on the OL? Are talented...
But that's the truth. The NFL loves things-that-work and quickly tosses out things-that-don't. That's why versions of Bill Walsh's 30+ year old West Coast Offense are still used, as are versions of Dungy's Cover-2 defense and the CHI 52.....as well as why we don't see much of the old HOU...
Laughably and predictably, you can't even quote me correctly, even though it's right there on the last page. But thanks for providing more proof of:
Pointing out typical behavior isn't an ad hominem attack. Pointing out that you clearly don't know the definition of 'ad hominem' might be...
True but if it worked, it'd still be in usage somewhere on some team.
Not sure I follow you but I think the biggest difference -- and why we're kind of debating past each other, respectfully - is that you appear to be focusing on PJ-OC whereas I'm focusing on PJ-HC, at least when it comes to...
Look, kid. Posting facts about anything doesn't equate to "hatred" of that same topic. You can't counter what I've posted because I've only posted fact, or noted that something I said was an opinion, or posted literal quotes from NFL and NCAA coaches. The anger in your reply here is...
Agreed but Dabo does take his foot off the gas against us and likely won't want to be a **** to the new coach. Plus, I think our D will be better, which keeps the score a bit lower.
Look, Clemson could win 48-17. That's a dominant blowout.
That's also a GT cover +34.
You can't be serious. The 2007 recruiting class PJ inherited was perhaps the greatest in GT history. I don't think PJ left us in as bad a shape as others think but let's not pretend CGC is walking into the talent-laden roster that PJ did in 2008.
it's apples to oranges to compare PJ's Jax-St-loaded 12-game schedule with the schedules Dodd faced. Dodd would've won 10/year with our schedules of late.
The TO isn't coming to the NFL ever. Why can't you understand that the NFL has become a passing league and all the rule changes of the past decade or so favor throwing it, not playing TO football?
As to the rest, I've never denied our PJ offensive production, nor complete lack of defense...
I agree with all that though I'm not expecting or even hoping for '51-'56. I'd just like to see consistent 8+ win seasons and a return to occasional national relevance, along with top-40 recruiting classes and the occasional GameDay crew showing up at the Flats. Also getting to be more...
1. "There aren't many NFL guys who want to cut" isn't the same as "There are NFL players who do cut block (regardless of what they think of it". Reread what you quote me saying above.
2. Again, not once have I denied that NFL teams don't cut block so you continue to bark up a wrong tree...
Why was the ACC seemingly out to screw us over with this Scheduling Conspiracy? I've seen a lot of paranoia on behalf of some of our fans but never anything substantial to back up those feelings. Any hard evidence that we were intentionally being screwed over?
Seems like a good example of...
no it's dirty IMO (and many other players and coaches I've already linked to multiple times lol). It's a lot like the horse collar tackle, another now-illegal play that was once legal and considered dirty at the same time.
I named 1 (DaShawn Hand at Alabama) and provided a link which mentioned another (Donta Hightower). The belief that intentionally diving at people's knees to block has never caused an injury anytime, anywhere is laughably naive so I understand why you are "done here".
Saban is clearly against it though. Not sure about the rest of your post. The 'flopping around' was Sewak's coaching. The rest? I've literally never seen anyone describe any aspect of PJ's offense as "vicious and cruel". Citation?
Stop what? There's more than just one coach who believes cut blocking is dirty and plenty of players agree. Your PJ bias is making you turn this into something personal, but this is what happens 100% of the time when PJ enthusiasts are engaged: Always resorting to attacking the messenger...
I don't believe in ACC scheduling conspiracies. If true, then perhaps we should've been asking for a break prior to playing Clemson, VPI, Miami.
Yes, I do believe it's a coincidence esp. since most of the commentary I've seen thinks our schedule is difficult!
