    Conference Realignment

I can see the breakout of the separate governance for Power 4 football happening within the next couple of years. The ACC just needs to hold it together for that long in order to secure a seat at the table. FSU and Clemson aren't helping, though. Regardless, I believe the ACC will remain a...

    Conference Realignment

TFG deserves credit for trying to rebrand GT as "Atlanta's team", which makes sense if you're trying to grow the fanbase and market size. One little problem was that people want to be associated with a winner, and we didn't deliver. Now we have to overcome several years of "ugly football" as...

Carriage fees still swamp everything else if those numbers are correct. I know that streaming is the growth engine and Carriage fees may be declining, but subscription revenue still has a ways to go to catch up.

Bobby Dodd Renovation in the NE Stands

A good plan except apparently, Kirby doesn't do suspensions. At least not like Richt frequently did.

    Conference Realignment

Correct. Here's an article about the post-season incentives to go into effect this year: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/37721321/acc-endorses-new-revenue-distribution-model-reward-success Word was that certain schools like FSU were clamoring for an uneven split. This was at...

    Conference Realignment

Your analysis assumes that the BIG12's income is constrained by its current ESPN contract. There are other possibilities. I'm not advocating that this will happen, only that I wouldn't be shocked at Yormark coming up with some bold schemes to make it work. At the recently concluded BIG12...

    Conference Realignment

Although you responded to my post below, I'm not sure you understood its point. As for respect, that's a subjective component that hasn't been stated in the lawsuits as far as I know. It appears to be all about the money.

    FSU Bulletin Board Material

Agreed. We will need some breaks to win this game. Although I said in the Uncle Lou thread that I like our chances if we can avoid turnovers, I also think our defense will need to force some turnovers to give us that chance. Otherwise, I don't expect us to slow down their offense much.

    Conference Realignment

True, if one assumes they are invited to the BIG10 or SEC. We don't know if that's the case.

    Conference Realignment

I’ll say this about the BIG12 – their Commissioner Brett Yormark is a marketing guy/deal-maker with no shortage of off-the-wall ideas. When he first got the job some of his ideas seemed nuts, now they are reality. I wouldn’t be shocked if he didn’t cut some kind of deal with FSU or Clemson that...

Grateful that Brent Key understands GT

At least Richt occasionally would suspend players for shenanigans. Spurrier even made a joke about it. Kirby was hired to win at all costs; they were tired of coming in 2nd or third.

    2024 Team Preview: PPDvP5 (long)

Not wild at all. Your bar for "scoring at will" must be lower than mine. They scored on 5 of nine drives. Pretty good, but hardly scoring at will. Our D forced two turnovers.

    Offseason Media 2024

Correct. A recent Alumni magazine had a story about the new garage for the Wreck. I don't remember the details, but they mentioned a serious need for better storage before the new facility was built.

How many wins for GT to earn a CFP berth?

I don't think we would get in either way, but an easier scenario similar to the one you've described might be instead of losing to FSU, ND, and uga, we lost to say, Miami, but beat uga or ND, and were their only losses. That would look better on our resume.

    ACC win totals

Not only that, but the writer seemed to go out of his way to avoid mentioning us. But let’s include Maryland on his list of ACC “gap fillers with occasional greatness”. Friedgen had some good teams, but Maryland had only 5 seasons with 9 or more wins in the period cited. We had 7. And let’s...

How many wins for GT to earn a CFP berth?

Very rarely does the second-place ACC team get ranked in the top 12 by the playoff committee. A lot depends on who you beat and when. We did it in 2014 with wins over Clemson and then 9th-ranked uga at the end of the season. Even then they just bumped us up to 12th, although we finished 8th in...

Thank you. The data is on the Knight Database: https://knightnewhousedata.org/fbs. At least that appears to be where the chart's data was sourced. I only went back to 2020 to compare us with UNC and UVA because I didn't feel like parsing the data any further back, but it's there. Those who...

Are you seriously doubling down that Carson's tenure was in the same category as the other ones whose names should not be mentioned? If TFG had Carson's record, he might still be our coach. Carson actually went 9-3 in 1970 and won the Sun Bowl. Do you have a personal grudge against him...
