DABO on Revenue Sharing and NIL--Clemson Short on NIL?

In CPJ's time, it wasn't unusual to lose players who graduated but didn't get accepted into GT's grad school, thus transferring to play elsewhere if they still had eligibility. Wouldn't be surprised if that is still happening with the likes of Kennard, etc. Of course, now we have NIL as an...

Have our CBs been doing that all season? Seems like they did alright in the FSU game. Didn't we play mostly man coverage? Then again perhaps they weren't really tested in that game. FSU completed only a handful of passes over ten yards, and no long bombs.

What is your personal record in GT road games?

0-1 Athens 2010. The game where we let them score late in the 4th so we could have the last possession. Good plan, failed execution.

You just read my mind, lol. What I was going to post: Can anyone on this board with more expertise than I (shouldn't be hard to do) comment on the run plays we are calling? Are they mostly the same ones as late last year? Are we mixing in a lot of new ones? If they are mostly the same, with...

Your post has been flagged for exceeding the speculation limit on this site.

In your opinion, what would be a correct amount of speculation?

As an addendum to your insightful post… Our OL has faced 5 opponents this season – 2 with inferior talent – both Wins, and three ACC near-peers with roughly equal or presumably better talent (FSU). FSU was poorly prepared for us, among other issues (Win). Syracuse and Louisville were...

    A few things.

Key does not seem to be calling each play (like CPJ did) but instead allowing his OC to do so. Before the stumbles this season we were praising our OC for his creativity. What happened? Has Key told Faulkner how he wants the game to be called (“Run the Bawl”?). If so that is hurting us.

Thanks for the link, but that article was painful to read. Seems like they used a speech-to-text app with absolutely no editing or proofreading. I'm glad we have coverage from Jackson Caudell for SI, but he gets very lazy in publishing some of his content.

    ACC QB Rankings Week 4

My thoughts align fairly well with yours on this. Before last Saturday I would have rated McCord closer to King’s level, but still give the nod to King for his overall contribution to our offense. McCord seems to be a bit better as a pure passer – he certainly showed that in our game. But he...

Yeah, I don't understand why @RonJohn's post was directed at you. A little more precision yields 2.42 ppd for Louisville when their offense was on the field. If we allow that average for the two missed possessions, their final score would have been 17 + 5 = 22. Since that’s an unlikely result...

I may watch the condensed game based on your comments, even though I struggle to rewatch losses. I watched the one for Louisville's previous game to gauge how good Shough was. The problem I had watching a condensed game for indications of a team or player's strengths and weaknesses is that it...

    ND/MBS Tickets

Haha yes I did. Interestingly, ND lists the Army and Navy off-campus games for ticket sales but links you to Ticketmaster to buy them. Unless I missed something on their site. They don't list the GT game directly for ticket sales, but their general ticket sales link goes to SeatGeek which...

This speaks to a shortcoming of giving individual position grades. Few DBs can cover when the QB has all day. Also, without looking at the all-22, sometimes it can be hard to tell whether or not a DB (or LB) was truly out of position to make the play due to bad technique and/or decisions, or...

    ND/MBS Tickets

Does anyone know what Notre Dame’s ticket allocation is for this game? I did a deep dive into the inconsistencies for the designation of games at MBS as either Home, Away, or Neutral. There are several reasons it matters. The GTAA may mischaracterize true neutral games as home games to pump up...

Agreed. Grading fail - especially if you give our offense a "B" for scoring 17. I don't understand the disdain by some fans for our defense in this game. Yes, individual position groups showed weaknesses and execution failures, but to use one of King's favorite phrases, at the end of the...

Many of the criticisms are warranted, but not this one. Key was asked about this in his post-game presser – he explained that it was done to get Birr a better angle for his field goal try (which he made). We were on the 4-yard line. And taking the points at this juncture also makes sense to me.

Yeah, but I thought Alexander and Carrie were healthy in the VMI game. If they are dinged up too, we definitely need the bye week.

Some optimistic tidbits for those losing hope

Interesting. We have it listed on our schedule as "vs" also, which I thought was reserved for home games. But Notre Dame has it as a neutral site game on their football schedule. To my knowledge, the GTAA has marketed it as a "home" game but I could be mistaken. In any case, if ESPN is...
