What is your personal record in GT road games?

5-5.

I counted bowl games and ACC championships, but didn't count the '17 and '23 "kickoff" games at the dome because I think those were technically home games?

Count those, and it's 5-7.

I want to put this to you in as polite a way as possible so that we can retain some sense of decorum and foster the seeds of a positive personal relationship going forward. So WTBS, how in the absolute **** did you have access to this goddaam ****ing data and choose yet again to sit in the stands you dumbass stupid ****ing moron sonofabitch???? Asking this (politely) for a friend btw?

ETA: i forgot the sarcasm emoji.
Do not fret, this was my only road game this year! Now if we open next year with an L against the Shedeur, Travis Hunter, and (probably) Coach Prime-less Buffalos in Boulder, then you know exactly where to lay the blame 🙋‍♂️

It took guts for you to publicly admit your wrong doing. There was a lot of fretting and wasted time on this board over coaching decisions, player mistakes, refs, wrong uniforms, etc. But I am a firm believer in Occham's Razor. WTBS, how much can the board collectively pay you NOT to go to Boulder next year?? Have you ever heard of the old gambling adage about never betting against a streak????? :)

I’ve been to Clemson, Auburn and Tennessee, all W’s in the regular season. That CU game was CJ’s coming out party!

I’ve also been to two Peach Bowls, both losses, and a Citrus Bowl - the WIN!!!

So I am 4-2 for away games. Not many, but some good ones.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say I have a game on my record that no one else here has...

2022 vs. Pitt @ Heinz Field. The start of the Brent Key era! Aside from the band, I'd estimate that there were 15-20 Tech fans TOTAL at that game. It was a miserable weather day (44 degrees and rainy) but it is certainly one of my fondest memories as it relates to Tech sports.

We had six of us there. Miserable weather but the clouds parted. A circle of storms all around.

My group of 2-9 is:

L Wake in Jville 2006

W Clemson in Tampa 2009

L Duh U 2011

L FSwho in Charlotte 2012

Win Tulane 2014

L ND 2015

W Louisville 2018

L Temple 2019

W UNC at MB 2021

W Pitt 2022

W UVA 2023

We will be in Blacksburg this year, 3 of us.

Forgot about Clem at the 2009 ACC CG. Another W. Screw the NCAA.

17 - 22 in a true road game. It's interesting to look back over the last thirty years of football. I am thinking about taking the boys to UNC for their first on a list.

Clemson 4-7 (94,96,98,00,02,04,06,08,10,12,13)
Georgia 5-7 (96,98,00,02,04,06,08,10,12,14,16,18)
FSU 1-2 (99,03,09)
UNC 1-0 (00)
UVa 0-1 (01)
Auburn 1-0 (05)
VT 0-2-lightning (00,05,12)
ND 1-0 (07)
Maryland 0-1 (07)
Miami 0-1 (09)
Vandy 1-0 (09)
Kansas 0-1 (10)
MTSU 1-0 (11)
NCST 1-0 (11)
Louisville 1-0 (18)

UGA- wins (84, 90, 98, 00, 08, 14,16) ( UGA Losses- too many ? ) other wins Navy, VT, ND, UVA, Clemson twice, Auburn, FSU, Mid Tenn. State, Miami (twice) plus 1998 Gator Bowl vs. ND, 2014 Orange Bowl v Miss. State and 2016 Gator Bowl v Kentucky and last year in the Gasparilla verses CFU.. I saw us lose to Miami in the 1999 Gator Bowl. I have seen us lose at Pitt, UVA, ND- twice , Miami, Clemson 4 times, FSU- twice and Louisville. I am proud of the 4-1 mark in bowls, Embarrassingly, I left early and didn't see the botched punt and the Reggie to Calvin fade at Clemson. We were down by 10 with 2 minutes left. And the Mario "Don't take a knee" game last year. I left after they made a first down and it was a mathematical certainty we were going to lose. But nothing beats winning in Athens ( by a mile.). The 2014 UGA win was the most exciting, but Paul's first win in his first year with the "high school offense" in 2008 was particularly sweet. UGA's defense had no clue stopping the triple option in the second half. I love going on the road.

Overall Record is 6-3
Wins - UGA, Boston College, Maryland, UNC, Wake Forest, Notre Dame
Losses- UVA 2, Duke
Obviously never going to UVA again

Not so good in neutral sites 2-5 (would be nice to be at a Bowl Win at some point):
Wins - Boston College (In Ireland), ACC Championship vs. Clemson
Losses - ACC Championship vs. Wake Forest (that one still hurts), ACC Championship vs. FSU, Iowa (Orange Bowl), Utah (Sun Bowl), LSU (Peach Bowl)
I agree about that ACC Championship in Jacksonville verses Wake. Luckily, I was sitting in a VIP Box with plenty of free beer. It was the most boring game that I have ever seen. There was a movie made based on a local family's tragedy leading into Wake's magical year. It is called the "Fifth Quarter." It is a family oriented movie with a sad story, but joyful ending. I highly recommend it especially for high school and college students.
