I had a friend of my (GT grad) tell me a few days before thanksgiving that Vad was transferring at the end of the season. I remember when he told me I was in disbelief.
I remember Kevin Brown. He went on to play for the Rangers if I'm not mistaken along with a few other teams. I have to say Varitek is my all time favorite GT baseball player.
I understand what you are saying and its a great point. But imo I think the loss of any excitement due to the change will be defaulted by the added excitement of getting your team in the Top 4 or 8 instead of trying to go undefeated/1 loss and being in the Top 2 of the BCS.
We could do those numbers also. But this offense is about sharing the wealth in regards to running. Not giving the ball to 1 feature back 90% of the time. Not saying we can't land those guys because we can. But they have to be somewhat unselfish.
Example:
Vad Lee had the most for us with 182 carries on the season. David Sims was second with 161.
Tre Mason at Auburn had the most for his team with 317 carries on the season.
Jmo here but one of the reasons that we don't lure more 4-5 star rbs to this offense is they have to be unselfish. Most top level RB recruits want to be the "feature" back in the offense. In our offense, we really have 4 backs (AB, AB, BB, QB) splitting their carries with one another. That's...
I hate it for Robert. He is a huge piece of the puzzle. It appeared that he was slowed or off maybe a little this season. I'm wondering if this injury was lingering or just abruptly happened...
