I’ve heard the money figure for a new coach could be in a rough range of $2.5-$3.5 million unless you can go out and get a proven P5 guy like Clawson from WF, then you would poney up the money for him.
Edit: Want to clarify that I was told this before President Angel Cabrera made his comments...
Dabo, Urban, and Sam Pittman all lacked coordinator experience before getting their HC jobs but they all succeeded expectations by a long shot. Not saying that’s what you get but those are a few guys off the top of my head who went straight from a position coach to a HC and succeeded greatly...
Dell McGee and Tray Scott would both be pretty size able blows to their staff, then you also can have the discussion that maybe this is the year Monken takes a HC job since he got the natty he wanted at uga. They could lose 3 of their top coaches not named Kirby
Taking Dell McGee and Tray Scott from UGA would be a considerable blow to their coaching staff. UGA would absolutely hate to lose either of them and especially to tech.
Dell McGee would bring a few uga coaches with him. The big appeal to him, is stealing him, their biggest recruiter and uga’s biggest up and coming coach with him. Dell would fill out a VERY strong staff.
The name I’m talking about is Tray Scott. He would be Dell’s hire for DC. He’s uga’s...
He had a hamstrings injury. I swear our PA announcer never knows what the **** is going on. There’s been multiple games where he’s announced an injured player as the starter, he did it with Jordan Williams, Stewart, Dylan Leonard, etc. He did it a few times when sims missed that long period of...
No ties to the south, will have much much bigger job offers, has a real path to winning and sustaining a winning program at Kansas with the future of the BIG12 with atleast Texas and Oklahoma leaving. Lance really enjoys Kansas from what I’ve read. He could get the Texas job if Sark is gone in a...
Lance Leipold is not a realistic target for tech. Check into his contract and he just got a 1 year contract extension that takes him all the way to 2027. Just because he’s winning at Kansas doesn’t mean he’s automatically a tech option.
According the the vid with Bryce Koon, Calvin Johnson is going to be making his way back into the program and will be apart of the coaching search and provide help and input.
