  1. Where is the post game presser with CPJ

Occam's razor maybe: the simplest explanation is, yes we do.
  2. Where is the post game presser with CPJ

Actually he was a jerk. It is this churlish nature of Johnson that is so off-putting. Press and public relations are part of his job and the reporters were doing their job. Of the things I like about him, this I find is almost becoming a game changer. I can understand mistakes, losing, even...
  3. Where do we go from here?

Amazing. Just amazing. First, Marshall proves he can pass, and it goes unnoticed after all the hoohah, from me included, and the offense gets 600 yards and is deemed "ok". There was some bad tackling, but basically the defense seemed to wear out, and the old blow-a-big-lead fatal flaw...

Having nothing to do with football except we just lost some time to an injury, this on electric scooters and emergency rooms: https://www.washingtonpost.com/?reload=true
  5. Georgia Tech vs. South Florida Predictions #GTvsUSF

A fair analysis. I thought last week's defense, all things considered, was good. Consider that every upper classman on that team has been taught to be passive and let the offense come to them. I didn't see many sacks but I saw a lot of flying around and hunting the ball. They will get better and...
  6. CPJ Coaches show

My observation and watching one of his chalk talks is if they cheat up he will try to straighten them out and, obviously, score if he can. But he doesn't want LBs skating and corners squeezing in and safeties creeping up. (Sounds like a country music song, doesn't it?)
  7. CPJ Coaches show

I would never expect a good coach, and Johnson is a very good coach, to hammer any player publicly. He's not going to say he has a QB who can't throw a lick. He wouldn't even say it with Tevin Washington. Or Josh Nesbitt. Neither of whom could throw the proverbial lick, though they did other...
  8. Former GT coach Brian Jean-Mary is ...

All bets are off with a better athlete. Lynch, for instance, has a real knack for turning the corner against a guy who beat him there. Early on Orwin Smith had that ability. Has to frustrate them.
  9. CPJ Coaches show

Actually, I think twice in the last 10 years I recall 3rd or even 4th and 15 and he ran the QB draw for a first down. You can do that when your best athlete is at QB and not Aback. But I understand, and he will still throw deep to make the safeties get back where they belong so he can run the...
  10. CPJ Coaches show

If he said that it is in direct conflict with his offense and the tactics he has explained and used in the past. When he catches the safeties cheating up, he will throw deep. And "have to" will have nothing to do with it. And the question remains: can we hit it?
  11. Roof Out as DC

He really ought to get some advice on eyeglasses.
  12. CPJ Coaches show

Then the ol' ball coach has some s'plaining to do. He for danged sure was worried about it after Saturday's game, and I don't think it improved in two days.
  13. The Big, Happy Elephant In the Room

That was Alcorn State we played Saturday, right?
  14. Alcorn State Postgame Discussion

He was the one with his hair on fire.
  15. Former GT coach Brian Jean-Mary is ...

Have they joined the clamoring throng that, having practiced against it at every opportunity, say they did nothing special to get ready?
  16. Former GT coach Brian Jean-Mary is ...

It will be hard but we can make it tough for anybody. Besides which I think we win. And it looks to me -- yes, I know, on the basis of one game -- that Clemson is heavy favorites in their division and it is going to be GT or VT on this side. FSU and Miami have been exposed, and while VT as...
  17. Former GT coach Brian Jean-Mary is ...

Until Marshall is able to hit enough deep throws to keep the safeties from cheating, we will have this problem. they will cheap up and seal the edge to take away the pitch and we have either dive or keeper. Those throws are part and parcel of Johnson's spread offensive planning.
  18. Strength of Schedule Shot after week 1

a pretty level-headed post. Miami still has its reputation but we should have beat them last season and they have now lost four in a row over two years. And they still are coached by a great recruiter. Who can recruit. His day job creates the problem.
  19. Strength of Schedule Shot after week 1

Not sure how you got to NC game with a loss. If that happened, we would have to win the ACC championship. If the loss came there I am not convinced that our past records would not jump into view and GT would be seen as an outlier and not a serious NC contender. I think we have to win the ACC to...
  20. Strength of Schedule Shot after week 1

I am not sure one game into the season tells you anything, particularly if your mindset is contrarian going in. SOS is both a function of the opponent and you, and I am still not sure this Tech team is going to be contenders. Pittsburgh is going to be tough. Louisville is going to be tough...
