I believe the OP referred to Tech (The Hill) as leading this. The GTAA is a separate organization with separate brand identities.

The GTAA is not required to follow Institute guidelines. They are a separate organization. I would like to see a COMPREHENSIVE refresh that includes all affiliated programs, including GTAA. But ... it is good news.

Geoff is the Great Experiment. He’s to prove that Tech can compete and be aTop 25 program on a consistent basis and not be relegated to service academy status. I have no idea how we will do this year. The portal is our lifeline.

I never said it did. Uniform choices have consequences. I'm not judging ... just sta fact.

Thank you for making my point. Large programs have sufficient demand as to minimize obsolete inventory. They can AFFORD variation. Smaller programs cannot. The setup costs and smaller runs are disastrous.

It only matters if you also want a healthy merchandising program. Which we don’t.

This reminds me of an old marketing slogan: “Fashion (gimmicks) are for those with no style of their own.”

Thanks for the lecture. Tex Schramm, GM of Dallas, said he copied the GT uniforms because he thought they were the most attractive football uniform out there. You might as well have said teams had pants, shirts, and cleats. What’s the big deal?

Take a good look at the Dallas Cowboys. That uniform is based on Georgia Tech's. Don't like the word iconic? OK. But that was a great uniform.

I would like him to stay for a different reason. We played an aggressive, turnover based style that many teams found very frustrating to combat ... even when they knew what to expect. It reminded me of the Hoyas in the 80s and would be a great way to brand GT Basketball ... this was an exciting...

Uniforms are for the alumni. These are the long term supporters of the program. Why do kids go to Alabama and not Auburn? Alabama runs schemes that prepares kids for the NFL. Auburn does not. That’s why Malzahn was fired. Geoff may recruit well. But he risks losing the fan base. I for one...
