EXACTLY!!! SEC was calling that low scoring defensive game “epic” and “one for the ages.” That was about the time I started losing interest in any championship game that had an SEC team in it. The last thing I wanted to see that year was the same two teams play each other a second time.

Ndongo was everything coach said he was and more. If we can get a hot shooting guard to go with him we will rule the ACC.

Example of that is LSU. They had a high preseason ranking and never dropped out of the rankings. Alabama beat them by two touchdowns. FSU beat them by three touchdowns!

Now that you mention it. They fattened their record on a lot of cupcakes too. Problem is perception. All those mediocre SEC teams they beat get ranked higher than they should. So that cancels out the five cupcakes they played.

Me too. I NEVER agree with him but he’s right. This is not a beauty pageant. This is not about who you think looks the best or will be the most competitive in a playoff. It is about who deserves it because they won on the field of play.

FSU has GOT TO WIN now. I don’t care if they’re in the playoffs or not but being undefeated makes it harder for uga to get in. You could end up with Washington, Michigan, Alabama and Texas for all I care. Or, let FSU get in, anyone but uga.

The all time record viewership for a championship game was Texas and USC, so you might be on to something.

The numbers were down because people didn’t tune in. I didn’t watch, don’t know anyone who did. The Ohio State vs uga game was the one everyone was eager to see with fans outside the SEC.

Any “premature” thoughts? I just wonder if the identity will be rock solid defense? Three point shooting? Offensive rebounding and second chances? Running the floor? We don’t have the pieces to do all these well but my assumption, which may be faulty, is that we will eventually find what...

Wasn’t the National Championship game last year the least watched since the playoffs? Yes, SEC fans never miss watching their cult members 🤣 but there are a lot of people in other parts of the country who tune out when there’s too much SEC saturation on TV.

Tech has yet to establish an identity for this team. And things are probably still evolving. I doubt this game will look at all like the Miss State game. Curious what others think will be the identity of this team as we get deep into the season.

I actually think interest would increase if the SEC is left out. The downside of the SEC’s relentless campaign of “we are the best” is that it actually turns off a lot of people and they get tired of watching the same old games.
