    Practice Day - #3

So little getting said about Jalen Johnson. Dude could be a beast down the road. A safety tandem of him and AJ Gray. OMG.

His dad is a good dude. Sounds like they've raised a terrific young man.

    Spring Practice - Day 1

Since they both get a good amount of reps with the 1 and 2 Bbacks and centers, I don't know that it is that much of a concern. I see your point but having seen enough of PJ's practices at Southern back in the day, it's not a big issue.

Wonder where this puts Kelly Quinlan

Keep in mind Kelly doesn't work for GTAA. He has nothing to do with them. He is an independent, outside party, employed by a media company. He's under no obligation to promulgate anyone from the school or the GTAA's own propaganda. It could have very well have been someone in the athletics...

Wonder where this puts Kelly Quinlan

Kelly's not the first guy to jump the gun or get bad info from a supposed reliable, credible source. Won't be the last, either. Twitter and other social media just makes such instances more prominent. I don't think it will affect his relationship with football at all. With basketball, maybe...

Wonder where this puts Kelly Quinlan

PJ is a big hoops guy. He'd always go to the games when he was head coach at Southern, and Southern was abysmal during those times, such as a 3-win season. Not in conference. Overall.

Special Honor for CPJ, Joe Ham

Jack Hill is the 4th Senate District. That's Tattnall, Bulloch, Evans, Effingham, Emanuel, Candler, I think. That's big Bulldog and Georgia Southern country. Tech's generally a distant third in allegiances in those parts.

Special Honor for CPJ, Joe Ham

Great that former Tech player Ronnie Mabra was the lead sponsor on the House resolution for Joe Ham.

Special Honor for CPJ, Joe Ham

Old guy back left in photo is Jack Hill, state senator from Reidsville and chairman of Senate Appropriations Committee. Great guy, too. Back right is Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, a Georgia Southern grad. Don't know right off who the three lawmakers on PJ's right are.

Something to wet your offseason whistle

Yep. You wet your whistle. Or someone else's if you choose. Not here to judge someone's proclivities. Your whet your appetite.

    What went wrong?

Didn't say he was. In fact, said he wasn't. But the point is, he needs to shoot less, especially from the outside. A lot less.

    What went wrong?

I've seen enough of this team to state with ironclad certainty they cannot shoot. Jorgenson is a 30 percent shooter, and his shooting stroke will remind no one of Mark Price's shot. Jackson is a 26 percent shooter, coming off a 3 of 15 performance. And it's not like he started off as the second...

Just for the sake of what if?

No. A better team wins some of those games. This team is just good enough to lose by close margins. Not deep enough or talented enough to get over the hump.

    MGH out for the season

So that's going to require ... 41 shots a game from Jackson? Yikes.

The problem with getting the Favors, T Young and Crits of the world is you know going in they are one and done and if you don't accomplish anything that year you have them, you pretty much wasted a lot of time and effort that could have been spent on guys who might not be just in their class but...

While I don't think the recruiting has been outstanding, it hasn't been terrible. MGH, Robert Carter Jr and Tadric Jackson were all prime time recruits. One's still here and playing his guts out every game, one bagged it and the other one ... well, here's hoping he gets better. Markedly better...

Tech no. 41 of 65 Power 5 school

Yes, the system helps even the playing field. But you still have to have players. You can't plug just good high school players into the formula. I'm glad our dear author has paid attention to our much improved facilities (would have loved for him to take a shot at Georgia, which can't get its...
