I would be really surprised if the Hawks traded and took the whole salary on given how close the Jazz are to taking care of that part themselves. However, there is no doubt he is better than the cast of characters they currently have at the 5 spot - especially if Spellman hasn't shown any...
I don't think either has been a "success". Drew is a bit more surprising for whatever that is worth. The big difference between the 2 IMHO is that Drew ran into a new AD ready to pull the trigger on fixing the BB side while Pastner has an AD who was more focused on the FB side of things...
I worry about consistency as every night in the ACC is a grind and coaches are not going to let a guy score 20 PPG without taking notice and making a few adjustments KY didn't get a chance to do.
I worry about how how minutes will be allocated and how he will adjust to a reduced role and not...
If I am the NCAA I file requests and follow up with lawsuits to get the information/tapes the FBI collected . I may or may not get them but I dn sure am going to make some judge be the one that turns me down
From an AD perspective I get going all in on football . Numbers are too big and a half empty stadium is too big a whole in the budget . Used to not be the case- at least to the same degree - but football really drives the revenue bus now .
Doesn't make it any easier to watch bad basketball though
The facilities are generally on par with the ACC. Practice facility and McCamish. New locker room helps for sure. And last year we sprang for a free concert for recruiting which I thought was a really nice touch. Lot of good things that say support. The question is what level of support we...
Glad Buzz mentioned Drummer. He had the prettiest jump shot I have ever seen - bar none. And strong as a freaking bull.
I wish Youtube was around for some of his highlight plays
That sucks. To state the obvious something ain’t working. Post himself isn’t the end of the world but we have a problem closing and that will be the death of this staff if we don’t get a legit talent infusion in 2020.
I will be really curious to see what level of international league he signs with. For a 6'6" 195 lb PF, this sounds a lot like the Ball brothers getting stashed in Lithuania for a couple of months. Not sure what Kenyan is trying to accomplish for his kid here.
I think this is a good move. I think it will bring back the post game as a higher "effective %" shot than any 3 point shot you can get. I am enough of an old school guy to be less than thrilled that the center position as I know it was being eliminated from the game.
For all of you who - like me - think Ole Roy is a bit stubborn about calling time outs , you can now bid on a package to sit on the bench during a UNC game next year and potentially have the ability to call one time out at your discretion. While I doubt this is open for the Duke game...
For us to make it I do think both need to be in the 15 range (call it down to 14 or so) - depending on what happens with the waiver and minutes for Parham. 7 teams made it to the tourney - 4 of them with 2 scorers above 15 or so. Of the others FSU and Louisville were a lot deeper than we are...
FWIW I see a lot more floor general type play in Jose and my recollection is he came with an old school PG rep coming in. DeVoe has a really smooth handle but came in with the rep of a 3pt shooter in HS with the opportunities coming from playing off Barrett. We saw flashes of that shooting but...
LOL - well you said I could go there :)
Not sure how many players we get to play 40 min. When they play 5 min it is hard to extrapolate to 40.
We do need someone or some group of players to really up their scoring - most likely DeVoe. Parham and Usher are the wild cards.
We have enough 4...
Until we know what is going on with Parham it is really hard to slot us.
I also hope that DeVoe becomes the breakout player for us. We desperately need a lead dog scorer.
