AJ's speed hasn't really shown up this year - particularly with all the preseason hype by PJ himself. He has played well in spurts, but he is not playing anywhere close to a special player at safety. I wonder what has happened? Is it just a slump? scheme? It is puzzling. Meanwhile, Corey Griffin...
So the up and coming star suspended again. Nice. This team is snakebit. We went from having a glut at bback to once again having very little back there if MM can't go.
Well who on our roster would you suggest cover those TEs if not the 5'9" nickel? AJ Gray? go watch the tape - he has been trying (note keyword trying). It only works to match up personnel if you have the personnel to do it and frankly no one on our roster has shown that they have the size and...
I'm sure that in realtime PJ couldn't have done anything other than be pissed at a guy getting called for holding on the backside of a toss play. I took his comments post practice to be that he may have agreed with SD about the call being not good - he is not allowed to comment on officiating...
Awesome interview. I challenge people to listen to this and not like the guy's personality. I love the guy's personality - frustrated with this year and last, but still love having him as coach.
It felt to me that the money for Roof was made contingent on who he hired and that PJ picked him to placate some booster or other. I'm quite certain that it's all in my head because I wanted PJ to pick a good DC for what I felt was his last opportunity to fix the defense. Instead we got a...
Really? This is a serious question. I remember when Roof left Auburn for UCF (and then PSU) it was because he was about to be fired. It is my belief that Roof was kind of forced on PJ.
I agree with what you are saying. To call the offense a disappointment these last two years would be an understatement. I think I'm disappointed in it because I expect us to be explosive or to be able to death march the hell out of it and we just can't.
I'm not sure that Justin is as good as you can get for this offense. JT is good, but I don't think he's the best that's out there. Your point is taken though and I pretty much agree.
I think you misread most of the criticism. Most of the criticism isn't about winning 10 - it's about being able to win 6. We won three last year. 3 so far this year - and to me we look closer to last year than anything else. Personally, if PJ pulls it out of the gutter - somehow scrapes to 7-5...
We will never know how it would have played out if we punted. I'm fairly certain that they would have driven down and kicked the FG and the result would've been exactly the same. Forget the las 17 games - Pitt hadn't been able to consistently stop the offense, but you're right that it's not like...
GT's revenue is about 75 mil. Alabama op revenue is about 150 mil. GT isn't poor, but we're not that close to Alabama. Ironically Clemson isn't that far ahead of us in revenue.
Maybe - we will see. Clemson's program is probably at it's highest point ever historically (Yes I know they've won a NC). That's happened under DRad (granted he came in under a program building).
Requires more than just effort. The numbers you're throwing around would make GT competitive in terms of budget with teams like Clemson. Tech has never been close to the big boys in modern football.
