I have no doubt they were well prepared. If you put people on their backside it doesn't matter how well prepared they are. We were not focused, and certainly not ready to play ball. We got whipped up front on both sides of the ball. That's all there is to it.
Recruiting is the most important component of a successful college program and its the one that we do the most poorly. Something has got to change or we will be with the bottom feeders very soon.
We may pull an upset for the ages next week and get to go. We may pull last minute shenanigans of some sort with a 12th game against a directional school and get the required 6th win, we may bribe a bowl official and the NCAA to look the other way, we may do all sorts of things but this year...
I would not say that he "recognizes it as a player problem" so much as being intuitive that this is what a team looks like that has not got its mind "rite" as they say at the U. Nobody really knows but the players and they are not talking, thank goodness.
