Since he is a current topic of interest I figured some may like to hear from the man himself in this current interview the Tech student paper ran. I like this guy, he's a character.
How is this for putting the past season behind you, "onwards and upwards":
Technique: What did you think of...
I had a similar thought when I also read that Tev was at the practice. He was so smooth and natural at minimizing the opponents hits and tackles, he rolled with the punches very well as QB. Early last season I was worried about Thomas as a kid who wasn't as good at that and wanted Tevin to...
Just to prove this is a Tech site, I think the correct logic of that statement allows for sleeping on some but not all, or sleeping on everyone. I am too tired to actually type out the symbolic logic or anything but . . .
I was actually trying to compliment Tech and take a veiled swing at UNC/Syracuse, and all the factories where "tutors" write the student's papers and arrange for fake credits and even take tests in some instances for the "student"-athlete. I did not mean to suggest that Tech does not make...
At Tech it is all up to the student-athlete . . . at [insert name here] it is all up to the athletic department tutor assigned to that student-athlete.
Lots of talking to someone in this thread but I can't see who (;)).
Go get em Coach Price, I will enjoy seeing how they do. I love seeing success from anyone tied to Coach Cremins (and Tech of course).
How did I downplay, dismiss, or what if him? I gave my reasoning for thinking he was basically on par in importance to the two guys that Cremins recruited into the program I was praising. My motive and intent was clearly to diminish Hewitt and not Bynum.
I thought of putting Bynum in with Jack as above Mo and the multi-year captain Lewis in importance, but then decided the argument was close enough for me to just single out Jack.
Bynum was a transfer in that year who came off the bench all season and then had his clutch moments we all remember...
Interesting read. I am sure the regulars here were familiar with this backstory but I wasn't.
Most like to give Hewitt a lot more credit as a recruiter than I am willing to do. I think he rarely was able to actually put a real solid team together. Clarence Moore and Marvin Lewis were both...
The classic British novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë has a character named St John and it is meant to be pronounced as "Sinjin."
If that is to highbrow a reference for y'all ( ;) ) then the p.o.w. brother of Stringfellow Hawke on the 80s tv show Airwolf was named "Saint John" but his name...
I like this thread but I do want to throw one bucket of cold water on the conversation. In our saner moments I think most of us recognize that football is a team sport and that a QB gets more credit or blame than deserved. @dmurdock points out astutely that JT was helped greatly by the senior...
