I am spending a bit of time looking back at the 2014 replays I had saved. There is little doubt in my mind that Syngyn Days belongs in my group of GT players I call "warriors" because they gave supreme effort every play and got results. As CPJ said about Days back in the season, "He is a football player." What more could a coach say about a guy? Where would we have been in 2014 with Days?

You raise a fun topic.

In my mind, Synjyn emerged as my biggest surprise of the season. I had big expectations of Justin Thomas, and he exceeded them. Synjyn somehow surprised me more. He carried the load in such dominant fashion after he earned the chance. And, of course, when opportunity presented. Arguably, the bigger the moment the better he played. I would hate to think where we would have been without him, because it was a solid two-- and at times even 3-- B-back year.

I would love to think that, in a worst case, we could have burned CJ's redshirt and he would have performed admirably. I'm glad we didn't have to find out.

Fans are often too quick to write players off imo. Days, Perkins, Godhigh to a degree....the list goes on. Kallon this year comes to mind. Hope he takes the next step this year and balls out...even if he doesn't he could still do so as a senior. JHD balls out this year and he will arguably be another.

Andrews really had some great knock downs in the last three games. Days, Godhigh, and Perkins have some great blocking history to compete against. I think Andrews will be one of the best in the blocking category.

I also think Andrews' running is good, but he will see exponential improvement with more game time experience. He had some past spring and fall scrimmage runs that were very exciting.

I'm in a happy place at the moment. Still basking in the glory of last year....and pumped about the potential of this coming year.

Roddy Jones can throw his helmet in the ring on best AB blocker at Tech as well.

Why do people think I make stuff up?

The classic British novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë has a character named St John and it is meant to be pronounced as "Sinjin."

If that is to highbrow a reference for y'all ( ;) ) then the p.o.w. brother of Stringfellow Hawke on the 80s tv show Airwolf was named "Saint John" but his name was always pronounced as "Synjin."
