Love Josh O but he has to get better at finishing around the basket. He misses a bunny that would've gotten it to a 2 point game and ND hits a prayer as the shot clock expires on the next possession to take the lead to 6. End of game.
I think he's right about the lock if we go 3-1. That would put us at 10-8 in the conference and that would include us beating ND or Cuse (possibly both) on the road.
Even if they win 4 of the remaining games, they'd be sitting at 7-11 in conference. I can't wrap my mind around a team with that conference record getting an at-large bid to the dance. If they did, so should every team above them in the conference standings.
The talk of Clemson even being on the bubble is silly at this point. They are getting a lot of mileage out of those close losses. At some point, you have to WIN games to get in to the Big Dance.
All I keep thinking is that we have players logging serious minutes right now that probably wouldn't get off of the bench on most ACC teams and if they did it would be for very little PT. Even a guy like TJ, who was highly recruited out of HS, is very inconsistent for us. It's a small miracle...
Our talent level and depth have ZERO margin for error. We could still play our way into the big dance, but I also wouldn't be shocked if we lost every remaining ACC game. Disappointed but not shocked.
If we could get into the NIT, I'd be ecstatic.
This was tough to watch. Lammers was in foul trouble the minute he walked off of the bus. PG play was junk as well.
Still have to remind myself that we are essentially playing with house money given the preseason expectations.
Don't really care what we run, I just don't want to be gnashing our teeth come Sept/Oct because the D can't get off the field or there's talk of "simplifying" the D. It's past time to field a competent D for an entire season, not just a game here and there.
After starting 12-1 and beating Duke, they've lost 3 out of their last 4. That only win coming against a very blah Cuse team.
This game should go down as an L for us, but it's starting to get difficult to keep the expectations in check...
Like I said earlier, Trubisky played just enough college games to show how good he can be (his supporting cast, which was full of upper classmen, probably helped a TON). When you play multiple years, your flaws become more apparent. That's one reason Watson's skills get picked apart.
Don't...
Smart move by him. UNC is losing a lot of their skill guys and I'm sure that would've affected his numbers for next year. Strike while the iron is hot and don't stay too long or they'll pick your game apart.
I think this is a bigger myth than reality...
2008 - Started 6-1
2009 - Didn't lose our 2nd game of the year til we played the mutts
2010 - Started 5-2
2011 - Started 6-0
2012 - Started 2-4 and finished 6-7...bad year all around
2013 - Started 3-3 but we were 3-0 initially with wins over Duke...
