That's why I like running it on the first play of the game and everybody's so fired up. There's no mesh to screw up, no quick decision making for the QB and as you say, it's almost a guaranteed 5-6 yards.
I think this is more of a myth than reality but I don't care enough to really argue it. It seems obvious that most D's are ahead of most O's at the start of the season.
Nobody's feathers is ruffled, except maybe yours, and most fans aren't pumping sunshine up nobody's ***. Multiple people have given you reasons why we will be ok this season, that doesn't mean Mills won't be missed. You're acting as if Mills was the only player we have, on a team of 80+ guys...
You don't have to drink the Koolaid, just give up the Chicken Little bull**** attitude. If you're certain we will now suck, congrats, you now have your fall Saturdays back. See you in 2018.
Things I'm still more concerned with than our B-Backs...
1) keeping our OL healthy
2) QB play
3) LB play
4) Place kicker
5) Can we generate a pass rush?
Players leave/quit or get dismissed for all kinds of reasons. GT is no different than most schools, regardless of who the HC is.
Being GT fan, you just pay attention more tha other schools.
My biggest concern....defensive coaching. At this point, I'm at a "show me" state with Roof. There's plenty of talent on D to field a respectable D (I'm not asking for Bama). No more of this "simplifying" horse poo in the middle of the season. Put the best 11 on the field and let the boys Give...
We are winning this game and going to the Big Dance. If anybody disagrees please keep it to yourself so I don't have to wish bad things on you and your family.
