    Starting QB in 3 years?

'Zactly. We are on our 3rd QB in three years, the offense is seen as behind the times, and so we sell tickets just to family, friends, and fans of the visiting team. This year or the next will mark the end of CPJ's tenure.

    DeAndre Smelter quits baseball

Never got to seem him pitch, but from what folks wrote, D'Andre was Hell on wheels until the shoulder injury. Hate to see the baseball team lose a pitcher, especially considering today's Wake Forest debacle, but he did a great job at WR last year. I wish him all the luck in the world.

'Coach Hurt'. I like him already.

    Wake Series

My God, it ended up 9-2. Are we gonna be that bad, Nuke? I didn't get to see any of the carnage.

    GT Pitching Philosophy Change?

It really might be a whole new ballgame on the Flats, eh? 'Bout time. Well, Nuke, we've discussed this before. It seems the Jackets are always a pitcher or two short come May and June, so maybe Coach Hall is finally changing how he builds a team. He let go an old buddy & longtime pitching...

Top three GT games you have been to?

    3. Homecoming, 1976. Beat Notre Dame without a single completed pass. Ran the wishbone. Right. Down. Their. Throat. 2. ACCCG, 2009. On my birthday, no less. Lovely, simply lovely. 1. FSU, 2008. Before or since, never heard a burst of sound from a crowd like the one for the...

Should Autry (the frosh) be a WR?

I can see him in the slot or where they stack two WRs & use one to rub the cover man off the other.

Should Autry (the frosh) be a WR?

I can definitely see trying him at WR regardless of his blocking skills if we need a big play to get us back in the game or keep the DBs from cheating up too much. A legit homerun threat is important in this offense.

Nothing to read here except this board just keeps on giving great analysis nm

OP is sayin' the mods and posters on this board to a great job following both recruiting and Xs & Os, I think. I agree - if you want info on GT football, this is the best site I've found.

    Justin Thomas and the offense

Yep, cheese, that play popped into my mind as I was writing my last post. But the hits I really fear are the short yardage plays when JT tries to go a la Nesbitt. Those, and the hits he'll take on the pitch play. He's got the guts of a burglar, and he'll hold that ball until the last split...

    Justin Thomas and the offense

JT shows lots of promise as an option QB, but oh, he's small for someone who takes the hits an option QB does. I think he and the offense will really light it up, right up to the instant some Kam Chancellor-sized safety nails him and puts him on the shelf for several games. Hope I'm wrong...

    Introduce yourself

I missed this intro thread before, but here goes: BChE75, MSChE76. Live in south Texas, but grew up in Florida - hence my handle. My avatar is a version of a poster I used to have on my wall in Cloudman. I posted under this handle on Jim Hart's site, then was delighted to find this one...

    GT 2014 schedule

We've beat up on our early OOC opponents before, and still limped into a bowl with 7 wins. Do you see Tulane & GaSo as tough enough to tell us what we've really got? (Not dissing either one, BTW. Just haven't seen em play.)

    Baseball Recruiting 2014 class

Hall replaced his pitching coach after the 2012 season, I think. But we still have depth issues. Didn't one pitcher sit out for Tommy John surgery last season? Hope he's back on form this year.

    Hot seat

Considering our recent performance against most of those, I doubt if a new coach/scheme would do worse.
