Not at all realistic on any level. Ga State combining with GT is controlled by politicians, not GT or Ga St. And Notre Dame will go where the money is when they finally give up their independence, and that's the Big Ten.

Money is now totally driven by TV dollars and TV markets. Not sure an ACC/Pac 12-2 merger would do much in that regard.

I am actually curious to see how this might eventually filter down to and affect other collegiate sports like basketball where historically the NCAA has controlled things (including the $$$).

Announcers were (I believe) SEC Network regulars. That should help you understand why they cover for poor sportsmanship and arrogance...it just means more. Proud that the team, despite its obvious season long deficiencies on the mound, played their hearts out and over-performed on the mound...

That, plus seeing 5 teams score more than 20 runs in the NCAA Tournament yesterday alone, makes me feel like there is more to this than just poor GT pitching.
