Having an NCAA Tourney is the #1 priority for the NCAA and takes precedence...
Here is where I stand on college football right now.
Would I like to be able to watch it - hell yeah
Would I allow fans in the stands - hell no
if I was President of Georgia Tech would I allow them to play - no. Mainly due to the fact it isn't safe at this time to have any students in close...
NCAA is trying to take itself out of the blame game, all but saying their advisors don't think it is safe to play.

NCAA also weighs in on what should happen to students. If their seasons are cancelled or...
Also, watching Nebraska get ***** slapped by the Big10 Commissioner last night was quite amusing. They got to throw their hissy fit for their fans and then the Commissioner basically said sit down and shut up.
Nebraska right now doesn't bring much to the B10. It has only finished first once in...
MLB is using its own testing lab - one that previously did doping testing. I believe they added a second testing lab as well after they had big issues early on.
Unfortunately colleges are unlikely to have a similar setup.
If you have the time this is a great podcast from last night with Dan Wetzel, Pete Thamel and Pat Forde on college football (1 hr)

Also this article talks about two things...
Finally I know this is the football board but college basketball is my first love so I wanted to leave this article on trying to save the college basketball season. It's basically a bubble proposal with a start date in Jan. I've already heard alot of chatter that college basketball before...
Both the B10 and PAC12 were quite smart in how they approached this. They are using valid medical reasons to postpone their seasons (note they have specifically said they are hoping to play in the Spring - that is important). Since they haven't cancelled and said they are not playing until Fall...
It's why many universities have decided to go online this fall.
it's why I expect as some campuses have large outbreaks they will close their campuses and go to online learning during the year.
Everything is about weighing different variables and your decision changes based on how those...
One suggestion for how to play the 20-21 basketball season so there can be a NCAA Tournament. I have heard of other similar suggestions.
Right now i would be surprised if there are any games before Jan 1. Have already heard significant chatter that basketball games before Jan 1 are unlikely...
Big 12 moves forward for now, will announce schedule this week
https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-proceeding-toward-playing-2020-college-football-season-despite-big-ten-pac-12-cancellations/
This is probably the most important quote - (I think it will all come down to are...
To me there is a difference between a breakout that happens when no one is watching -which was the case with the early cases, and breakouts that happen when you are trying to play games and have to cancel games. That will create alot of talk imo of 'why are they trying to play' among opinion...
Which is of course a double-edged sword. If they go forward and can play the season and it goes well then it is a huge boost to the schools and programs. If they play the season and there are outbreaks and it falls apart it will be very bad for the Presidents and potentially the schools themselves.
Alot of eyes will be on the B12 tonight. I believe they have a meeting tonight and they were reportedly pretty evenly split in terms of what to do. If they decide to cancel now then I think fall is done, if they decide to postpone any decision then the three remaining P5 go on and play the wait...
This article is a little older (saw a newer one by a school counselor in GA) but explains what is happening well.

Very few higher education systems are requiring SAT/ACT...
Like most diseases it affects the elderly and those with underlying conditions at a higher rate. That is absolutely true. But that doesn't mean it does not affect younger people.
According to CDC statistics 3.7% of all 20-29 yr olds end up being hospitalzed (17.9% among those with underlying...
I actually think the SEC has been pretty smart about this. They are simply playing a waiting game.
Now conferences are even smarter if they play a waiting game and work on their back-up plans while waiting. The worst case scenario is playing the waiting game, eventually having to cancel the fall...
Interestingly, The ACC has consistently been the most aggressive about trying to play, moreso than even the SEC.
Going to be an interesting week and frankly just points out how not having a central national leadership is hurting college football right now.
Keep in mind that everyone who is...
Ultimately this decision is going to come down to doctors and university Presidents. They are ultimately the ones on the line.
i have no doubt the majority of SA's want to play, but it is also obvious they want to be able to do it safely. Even the #WeWanttoPlay memo includes wanting protocols...
Typical Milwaukee being misleading. Only one group has mentioned revenue - The PAC12 and that was thrown in as a bargining point by Huma. The majority of the demands have centered around the safety of the student athletes and asking to have a say since they are the ones taking on all the risk...
