Couple of quick notes. There are 4 fewer games than last year - 27. You are going to see teams close to .500 making the Tourney this year given most teams will have fewer 'buy' games.
GT only has 2 really bad teams on the schedule - FAMU and Del St.
Mercer is not that bad - probably on par...
They were missing their QB for a couple of games so that didn't help. He was back Saturday and picked FSU apart.
We have to play a much more clean game than we have so far this year to win.
Do keep in mind that part of them playing in the ACC this year is that they have to share their $15M NBC money with the rest of the ACC rather than keeping it for themselves.
and if both make it to the CFP then even better.
VT lost in a wild way today to Liberty.
Liberty tried to kick a 59-yd field goal. it was blocked and VT returned it for a TD - Buuuut, VT called a TO before the play to ice the kicker.
Liberty came back out with their offense and ran one more play gaining 8 yrds and having 1 second left. They...
IMO Clemson could lose and it wouldn't matter.
If they make the ACC CG and win they will get a spot in the playoffs as I think the Committee will say with Trevor Lawrence they are one of the 4 best teams in the country.
Conferences play a different number of conference games every year and have different requirements in who they can play outside of conference games (can the play FCS, etc.). That isn't held against them.
Unless every conference plays the same number of conference games and have the same rules...
That was never going to be the case this year and was talked about back in the summer. It was always assumed that different teams would play different number of games due to the pandemic and the goal of the CFP is going to be to pick the best 4 teams regardless of how many games they played.
A...
I think it is a combination of rule changes that favor the offense and this season having no spring training for some schools, and limited practicing in the summer and fall. I expected a fairly ragged season nationally in terms of performance and that is what we have seen.
If I had to pick 2...
That was a fun game to watch, especially the 4th quarter. That drive before halftime was so important.
Defense was not good other than the takeaways. Still can't get off the field.
Offense finally got points rather than just yards. Sims has some great moments - though he still has alot to...
Fans need to take a chill pill. This is going to be a weekly thing because we have decided to play FB during a pandemic. There are going to be games that get postponed/cancelled on Fri or Sat due to testing.
There has already been 22 games postponed in college football (5 involving ACC Teams)...
Finally got to watch the game. Was much easier to watch knowing the outcome.
I agree with the thought that the chemistry between Sims and the WR's was excellent.
Lots of mistakes but impressed with the ability to stay in the game and persevere.
ST's were awful.
I suspect UCF will play...
It's all about trying to limit the ability for COVID to spread.
They don't want groups interacting with other groups of people. Basically, they want you to arrive, go to the stadium, get into the stadium, get some discounted food and drink and get to your socially distanced seats. The less...
Haven't had a chance to watch the DVR yet. Looking forward to it. Probably tomorrow night.
Congrats on the opening season win, let's keep it up against UCF.
Good luck to the team tomorrow. This is Robotics kickoff weekend for my sons team so i'll be taping the game and watching it on Sunday evening sometime.
And this is why i think there are going to be huge changes to college sports based on what colleges are doing this fall. As soon as you make it plain that the student-athletes aren't really students, they are now more like employees and I think that is likely to lead to significant changes. A...
You definitely need smart policies so you don't throw millions of people out of work needlessly, but we do need to work to make changes over time. We need both mitigation policies (to slow down the climate change) and replacement policies (to deal with climate change - like moving people farther...
FWIW, Kentucky Derby changed directions today and announced no fans will be allowed in the stands. I'm still a little surprised, though not shocked, the colleges are going to try to play football with fans in the stands. I haven't seen much from Americans in the last 5 months that suggest that...
This is probably the one thing I am paying closest attention to along with the medical committees. Read an article today that talked to over 30 of the committee members from the 5 medical advisory boards across the P5. One thing that members of the P5 conferences still moving ahead said in the...
Absolutely. For example, you have the third party vendor who runs some of the dorms for Univ System of GA that basically said that the system could not cut back on the students living in dorms even for safety reasons
"The letter to the Georgia system goes further, adding a paragraph saying the...
This makes sense to me but is not really how the release reads. The release makes it sound like you have the mask on in your seat unless you are eating. (might be a sneaky ploy to increase concession sales ;) )
"when an individual is sitting in his/her assigned seat within the seating bowl, face...
