I didn't see any hate for MJ. We all were concerned but hoped he would do well. He is. Moving the ball and good passing.
Glad he's doing well, but also recognize that the Tulane D is absolutely gassed & whipped.
ND certainly didn't look like the "playoff team" some "experts" were calling them, but that is a huge loss. I hate it because if GT wins next week it will be "diminished" because ND is without Zaire.
I share your concern about a backup QB, but let's face it, without JT there is zero "darkhorse" talk for GT. I hope MJ gets some good reps as well.
Ted Roof had some great comments on the AJC page for Tulane game prep about generating a 4 man pass rush this week.
I agree that GT looks well ahead of last year. I just hope that the offense continues to work on blocking, especially against block-shedding techniques for when we face some real defensive talent.
Jeff Monken at Army is running it too, IIRC, just hasn't had the success yet with the transition. Air Force runs a variation of spread option too I think. Someone can correct me.
I think that JT has proven that it takes a special QB to make the right reads at warp-speed for the offense to go...
Pretty sure it was grass. Comparing the game this year with last year will be like apples to oranges as many have suggested. Those on Tulane that thought they remember will find out they don't.
Yes, everybody is winning, and that iss nice. The end result on GT is the one I care about though, because if JMU wasn't working out for him I really wouldn't care.
Thank you for the analysis, Boomer. I hope for GT's continued improvement against Tulane but can't wait to see this defense against "the real deal" as I read a few times yesterday.
