Since we had a game cancelled we can technically apply for a waiver for bowl eligibility. If it is granted, it's possible a bowl would see 5-6 GT as a more attractive option than something like a 6-6 Rice team (I don't know what Rice's record is... just using them as an example). It's happened...
Also, I know Penn State has a great football history (although its been tainted), but would someone like James Franklin go back to the state of Tennessee and coach there? He's a good coach and a good recruiter who knows the southeast well from being at Vandy.
Chip Kelly is going to Florida. Maybe Frost goes to Tennessee unless they're going to try and put an end to the endless Gruden rumors everytime a job is open.
We have 2 bad losses (one which I feel like even pollsters still see as a wtf game in UT). After the rankings tonight our 2 other losses will be to two teams in the top 4. One of those losses coming on an absurd 4th down play to a team that just thrashed the previous #3 team. Our overall record...
Army only had 6 meaningful possessions (they had a possession at the end of each half where they just ran the clock out; 50 seconds at the end of first half and 2 minutes at the end of the 2nd half).
That's about 45 yards/drive and if you include their kickoff return yards its about ~60...
I agree with the sentiment of this quote , but we all know that when the UGA game is at home, A large portion of them buy our cheaper season tickets (especially compared to their prices) just for that one game. Now as long as we buy tickets on stubhub and only sell to other GT fans we can...
That 4th and 1 I knew they were gonna take a shot at the endzone. Great for us to snuff that out. Offense and defense played well. D better than O. D would have been better if not for some very ****ty luck (Miami 2.0 on that 4th down pass ). Special teams is our weakness. Outside of our punting...
I'm obviously upset and mad that we're 4-4 and not 7-1 (8-1/8-2 if we had played UCF), but sometimes **** just doesn't go your way in the worst kind of ways. I like our offense, but wish our passing accuracy was better. I don't care if we don't throw all over the field, but when we can't hit...
Some updates about VT:
They lost out on some of their usual Sunday prep time where they focus on basics (which means extra rest though, so maybe it helped) due to travel issues getting home.
Their WR Carroll at the moment has missed the last 4 games and may miss ours as well.
Their CB Adonis...
The defense played pretty well today. There were situations where they should have and didn't, but the offense wasn't producing today. The special teams remains awful. We have the D a lot of rest when we took the lead and we got burnt 3 times on TD passes where or DBs couldn't make a play. But...
I don't know if it was only a football thing, but didn't the UGA leaning Georgia congress pass a law that made it a crime to do something like that to student athletes that runs afoul with NCAA rules?
If so, and it covers basketball too, that could work in our favor maybe. Never thought that...
