  1. I am still not sold on CPJ but.........

Stats wise, you are correct. Winning games wise Nesbitt and JT disagree.
  2. I am still not sold on CPJ but.........

Yes it counts, but I want to see him continue to do it with his players. Hope he can do it!
  3. I am still not sold on CPJ but.........

Well said, and I agree 100%.
  4. A Word To The Negative...

Great win! Keep going and we'll be a unified fan base. It's a long season. Defense and special teams stepped up and the offense did good enough. Like I've said before, I'm not negative, I'm realistic. Took a big step forward today.
  5. Animated CPJ in Player's Faces...

Nothing wrong with laying into a player for his play, so long as you build him back up more than you tore him down.
  6. CPJ

Attrition happens at every school. Many have it worse than us. It's why the SEC schools sign 30+ recruits every year.
  7. CPJ

Nope, said teams went away from the option because of recruiting. Was asked for hard evidence, and provided an article with quotes from 2 coaches who used to run the option and dropped it.
  8. CPJ

Either the talent level has dropped or Wofford, Tulane, and Georgia Southern have improved dramatically and should be in the ACC.
  9. CPJ

Article is from 2012. If finishing 57th, 85th, and 47th in recruiting is getting better, then we have major problems.
  10. CPJ

That article is from 2012. Since then we have finished 57th, 85th, and 47th in the recruiting rankings. That is not holding our own.
  11. CPJ

Where's the hard proof that recruiting has gotten better? Don't tell me that we are 17th in the rankings because that won't stand. Didn't say that the option makes your defense worse. Said CPJ himself has never had a good defense. Ask any Georgia Southern fan and they will back that up.
  12. CPJ

Here is an article with quotes from Lou Holtz and Gerry Dinardo. Both won National Championships with the option and both abandoned it in the early 90's. Check out their quotes as to why they quit running it. Pretty straight forward...

The feature back's hand on the ground 2 yards behind center and no shotgun.
  14. CPJ

Hard evidence? Sorry, forgot to save the message board archives from 2008 to my laptop for future reference. Come on dude, if you hadn't heard those criticisms, then you must have been under a rock. So why did teams quit running the option? Recruiting is why. And has CPJ ever had a top...
  15. CPJ

Zone read option and veer option are blocked totally different. And Chip Kelly and the Eagles run a system similar to Auburn's.
  16. CPJ

First off, Auburns offense is in no way similar to ours. Totally different blocking schemes and plays. 2nd Auburn doesn't play with their feature backs hand on the ground.
  17. CPJ

Hard to have an honest, civil conversation with you. Denial is your right though I suppose.
  18. CPJ

    1) Recruiting taking a hit, 2) CPJ has never had a good defense. Let me preface this by saying that I don't think it matters what offense you play in, if you can play, the NFL will take you. However, recruits don't see it that way and we get negatively recruited against even more because of...

I was in favor of the hire. After the conclusion of year 5, all of the things that we were warned of had come to fruition and a downward trend has been in effect. Took a hard look at things, and arrived at my conclusion. Hope CPJ proves me wrong though.

Speaking of revisionist history... We were cruising in the game until Marvious Hester fumbled 2 punts and gave UGA favorable field position both times. Still you never felt like we were out of a game when O'Leary was here. Can't say the same for CPJ.
