  1. Can a GT QB win the Heisman ??

It's called the inverted veer, but it's not like the veer that we run. It's run out of the gun and the qb has more time and space to make the read.
  2. Can a GT QB win the Heisman ??

None of those qbs ran the veer option. They all ran the zone read. Totally different and much easier to execute.
  3. Freshmen to report tomorrow

Wouldn't blame them at all, but I didn't get that sense from him (trainer) at all. Seemed pretty positive toward GT.
  4. Freshmen to report tomorrow

Same here, but it was really good to hear that. I'm not a member over on TOS anymore, but from what people have told me, it was being reported that Custis flunked remedial classes. Clearly not the case. Just an example of why I dropped my subscription over there. Cover up central (even...
  5. Freshmen to report tomorrow

My daughter goes to the same speed and agility trainer that Custis went to. He told me that he expects Custis to be back at Tech. Said he passed all of his classes, but didn't get enough progress hours due to taking a remedial English class. Can't say for sure, but it sounds like an advisor...
  6. Athlon ACC Prediction

Switch us and Pitt, and it looks pretty accurate. 8-4 is easily attainable with this schedule. Anything less will be highly disappointing.
  7. Is Paul Johnson Bad for the ACC?

Don't think wins had anything to do with it. Not really sure.
  8. Is Paul Johnson Bad for the ACC?

Fair assessment. Like I said, it would be just speculation as to why there is a disconnect. He could be correct, but I can't say for sure if it's arrogance toward HS coaches. My guess would be a little laziness and neglecting HS coaches. Again that is just a guess. On a related...
  9. Is Paul Johnson Bad for the ACC?

Like winning over HS coaches in the state. When CPJ was first hired, there were a fair amount of HS coaches who jumped on his band wagon. I know several HS went to the CPJ offense including Peachtree Ridge, Heritage, and a few others. CPJ did an ok job letting HS coaches come in and ask...
  10. Is Paul Johnson Bad for the ACC?

Little harsh, but made some very true points like it or not.

You hit the nail on the head! Offensive systems have evolved specifically for that reason. You put your players in the best situation to succeed. Our pass protection is a perfect example of not evolving to put your players in the best position to succeed.

So you are picking and choosing stats that YOU deem more important. Check. Ironically, when it comes down to it, you don't even agree with what your stats say. Check. You just totally proved every point I was trying to make. Thank you sir!

So is our offense better now or in 08-09? Your stats say yes. Do you?
  14. B Back

Dude stats can be twisted and isolated to argue either one of our points. It's a waste of time. Would you honestly rather have the 2012-2013 offenses over 2008-2009 offenses?
  15. B Back

If you can get the defensive players to memorize a bunch of jibberish (3-10 plays worth per series) while carrying out their assignments and making tackles, they may have a chance. Like I said, by the time the play is called out, we are lining up in the formation, so doesn't really matter if...
  16. B Back

I knew this was coming. My point was there are going to be a couple of stat pumping games against a Syracuse or UNC that don't translate to the actual consistency of the offense.
  17. B Back

I don't think you understand what I mean by dummy calls. By dummy calls, I mean things within the play call that mean nothing. Our plays could be yelled out at the LOS by the qb, and the defense would have no clue what we were talking about, much less someone trying to decipher the hand...
