"...They took down Georgia Tech." Really? A two point win after playing their only perfect game of the season and getting a gift TD when a defender fell down on a play. I'm looking forward to this one at BDS this season.
IIRC last year Watson blew out his knee against us while making a cut. With a rag tag newly minted offensive line I shudder to think what might happen to him when he actually gets HIT.
That just makes him a "GT 5 stars" kid because after graduation he can also personally market his engineering inventions without having to give away the profits under a licensing agreement. Smart player and glad to have him in this recruiting class.
But as an announcer said DECADES ago when...
I have kept my season ticket even after moving back to California and make it out for all home games except the FCS game which I donate to a local Boys and Girls club. I even hit some road games so there is no reason the renewal number shouldn't be 100% with a waiting list for the better seats...
Perhaps we should ask the all time college football Genius Phil Steele his thoughts on these Georgia Tech early season betting lines as he's the bozo everyone runs to for his insightful analysis.
In the interim, my thoughts about the Hokies are this:
Just think how different that game last...
@Skeptic:
You're correct. Unlike the majority of the 4 and 5 stars ego driven recruits, a player like Justin Thomas is the antithesis of those kids as he (Justin Thomas) wanted to play QB and told Nick Saban he had no interest in becoming a CB in college.
That bold statement alone, coupled...
@GTech63:
Very well put. Look at FSU and Clemson who are not only losing a ton on both sides of the football, but they had several players unexpectedly leave early and those losses are always very hard to fix.
A prime example of having too many players leave early is currently on display...
The fear factor amongst the fan base is probably miniscule compared to their coaching staff and players. Considering that FSU played their BEST game all season against GT and won by two (2) points, they realize the trouble that awaits them this season at BDS.
Also, speaking of fan bases...
The primary requirement for a WR in the triple option offense is the TEAM attitude displayed by Smelter entering training camp last season when CPJ hear him say on the first day: "I can't wait for that first crackback block!"
Everything else flows from that statement alone.
@Northeast Stinger:
You are right on the $$ as far as the DL creating more problems inside with JHD at DT along with Gotsis. Hopefully Kallon can add some quality reps and keep both of the starters fresh for the 4th quarter. But here is what I expect to see from CTR throughout the season...
The second comment by the ND fan just exposes how little about football he or she knows. The FSU lineman they are referring to is NT Eddie Goldman who was a Five Stars kid back in the day.
He was injured on a goal line play early in the first quarter when he was MASHED by either Shaq Mason or...
Rumor has it he just finished setting up a brand new site dedicated to all things Brad Stewart in order to make more room for Yellow Jackets discussions on GT Swarm.
When you are down that many bodies heading into training camp it impacts the amount of hitting and other drills as less bodies creates practice problems.
Not saying they are down as many kids as USC west was with scholarship reductions, but every coach will tell you that need all 85 to get...
What was omitted from this article is the fact that since GT is using an antiquated high school offense from the 70's they are required to utilize Sony Betamax recorders consistent with the technology of that era for filming games. That was the real reason they were successful in 2008 running...
But this is much better and entertaining to discuss than hanging on to a barely six win season and hoping to keep the bowl streak going. What is also nice was the new GT oral commit saying he came to GT because: "They WIN!"
It boils down to this: An outstanding QB returning along with 4 out of 5 returning O-Linemen and good depth;
A D-Line that returns 3 out of 4 and plugs in JHD at DT who has been working his butt off to play again and should be an equal if not better replacement for Shawn Green who played very...
If the pick up had a ball hitch there is a chance they might be transitory and move away. If not, then there is a permanent single wide planted somewhere with a huge satellite dish sitting out front. Based on your observations my guess would be that they live in the one on the far right.
