@AE 87:
Very well put. I was quite surprised at the ability of Marcus Allen in the spring game and the pass he caught was not an easy grab. While the sample size is quite small in conjunction with his 4 days of practice at the B-Back position, I liked what I saw of his all around...
What our offense now has that is much different than the past is a CGC that are over 300 lbs for those B-Back plays up the middle. Add to that a 239 lbs FB transfer from Stanford and this is going to be fun to watch. CPJ has never had a player as big and strong as Skov in that position. He...
@dressedcheeseside.
There are now players in this program that will step up and perform just as they have been doing under CPJ. Heck, GT even plugged in a baseball player at WR who hadn't played football in about three years and that worked out okay. Everyone was fretting when Roddy Jones...
This player looks like the football recruiting version of Speed Dating: South Alabama, then Western Kentucky, and eventually Syracuse. Hard to say whether or not this kid should ever be allowed into a Baskin Robbins with 31 more choices to make.
However, if he is serious and has the academic...
@jayparr. Thanks for starting such a great thread on how a single individual can have a tremendous impact on another person that translates into real life experiences either immediately or further down the road. Be it in sports; business; or any other situation.
Leadership is setting an...
I'm looking forward to beating the Mutts at BDS this season to start another COFH winning streak. But in addition to that, I want to see the entire stadium in White and Gold with the only red and black being concentrated in the S/E corner where the visiting band and fans are seated, and NOWHERE...
Nice posting Jayparr. What kicked in last year were several players in the summer kicking themselves off the team along with a change at the QB position with an individual who wanted to be here and run this offense. Those critical events not only changed the team culture heading into last...
@chewybaka
Most of these "five stars" kids are NR when it comes to academics. Especially as it relates to the requirements for admission into GT. Maybe the admissions office will pick up on Saban and Meyers concept you referenced 2,000 years from now.
@ilovetheoption
"Yes, when he's healthy, he's unbelievably dynamic. That said, he's really little. He's good about not taking hits, and he's fast enough to run away from most big guys, but I think it was a minor miracle he made it though last year as relatively unscathed as he did.
172 is...
Having both of our centers ready for summer camp (Burden and Marshall) is huge. It was also very helpful that even with his broken thumb Freddie Burden played all of spring at guard, so he is cross-trained and able to shift spots if needed with Marshall stepping in at center this season were...
Speaking of DB transfers, I saw one from Notre Dame picked up and went to Bowling Green. They also lost an offensive lineman to Penn State that graduated (like Patrick Skov).
Roof reached out to CPJ about the DC position so could move back and raise his sons in the Atlanta area. I don't anticipate that he is looking to chase the money until they graduate from HS. He'll be here for quite some time.
For the first time in modern history he actually might pick GT to win the Coastal based on his odds of the Yellow Jackets winning the national championship at 60 to 1. However, given that he has Clemson at 20 to 1 and the Criminoles at 30 to 1, He certainly has us losing in the ACCCG.
If you look back historically, Phil Steele always has the Hokies rated higher on his list compared to GT. However, CPJ and the entire Yellow Jackets squad really enjoy being slighted every year. So why should 2015 be any different from Mr. Steele?
Thanks Phil.
