  1. He did again today in the PC

He might be more of a dreamer than a coach. At least right now.
  2. I guess it's easier to convert to "option" than to convert to "modern"

To answer the OP’s question, I would think it would depend on how good the new coach would be for the goal of accomplishing the job at hand. On things like experience, knowledge, organizational skills, ability, demonstrated level of competence, etc.
  3. What's he doing??

The man coached football for 40 straight years. That’s a long, long time. Then he retired. Think about it. Forty ... straight ... years ... of ... coaching ... football ... as ... a ... single ... chosen ... career ... profession. And he was successful at it. Plus, not once was he fired from...
  4. Temple Post Game

In Ken Sugiura’s report on the game in this evening’s AJC, Coach Collins is quoted in his postgame comments as follows: “I thought we moved the ball really well at times,” Collins said. “I thought we played really, really hard against, I think, one of the best front sevens in all of college...
  5. Temple Post Game

Losing to Temple is not so bad. The Citadel lost to Samford today, 61-55. In four overtimes.
  6. Game 4 Roster Updates - ATL and Captains

Let’s just run at ‘em with Oliver and Mason and Howard. Mano vs Mano. Use the huddle and run clock between plays. If they stack the box, use play action with Oliver passing and make ‘em pay.
  7. Game 4 Roster Updates - ATL and Captains

Might bee helpful to put out an NMU Chart. NMU = Next Man Up
  8. GT needed a change

Slugboy is correct. There are variants of this type of offense.
  9. Game 4 Roster Updates - ATL and Captains

Sorry, I’ve just read through this thread and now understands boldface means the player started at that position last week. OK. But ... oh pfft, I give up.
  10. Game 4 Roster Updates - ATL and Captains

Interesting. Why is Lucas Johnson in boldface, when he’s out due to injury?
  11. GT needed a change

This is one of the best posts and opinion-analyses I have read so far on this board, along with those from jojakt. If I may also add, I believe recruiting in the ATL (Atlanta) Area — for both football and basketball — will still be tough, and will remain so. As has been observed so far with...
  12. ACC Network Updates

stech can breathe easier now. LOL
  13. GT needed a change

I agree with much of what you say, jojatk. If I may, however, I would like to add here, and repeat what I’ve already said in my previous posts in other threads, that CGC needs to be given no less than five years — from now to the completion of the 2023 season — to establish a sufficient baseline...
  14. An Eye on the Future: Monken and Analytics

    From Forbes magazine: https://www.forbes.com/sites/donyaeger/2019/09/20/an-eye-on-the-future-army-coach-jeff-monken-embraces-analytics-old-school-football-to-create-a-fearless-business-lesson/
  15. Should our offense coordinator be coaching on the sidelines instead of in the booth?

Yes, I agree. It doesn’t really matter where he is during the game—up in the booth, or on the sidelines—because (at least to me so far, from watching three games) he doesn’t seem to have one offensive system-philosophy from which he can select the best available QB to run that one...
  16. Geoff Collins as a HC - Full Season Data

Incomplete. Only two years and three games as head coach, 16-12. Insufficient data.
  17. Rotating QBs good or bad ?

That looked fishy to me. TV showed Lucas being escorted into the locker room before he came back out and was re-inserted into the game in overtime. Cortisone shot? I dunno ...
  18. Rotating QBs good or bad ?

Yes. He’s a stud. Make him the starter at quarterback, and keep calling some passing plays mixed in so he can gain experience and effectiveness in that area. In conclusion, he’s a stud of a horse!! The coaches need to play him at QB and support him through his growing pains.
  19. Has it come to this?

Might also help to stop waving those silly “$ Down” signs and coaching the unplayed players on how to dance and look hip ‘n cool on the sidelines.
  20. Rotating QBs good or bad ?

Boy, in your video of the spring game back about two years ago, LJ sure looked decisive and very effective in running CPJ’s spread option offense. Excellent point. Now, after three games this season under a new and different offense, LJ has not looked as decisive and confident in his play...
