If you get a first down on every play you burn 7-15 seconds off the clock. Not there’s anything wrong with that. But you give the ball over every 2-3 minutes per drive. You run the ball and you can burn up 6-8 minutes per drive. Keeps the defense off the field. Important in the fourth quarter.

I agree. With the occasional Penn State or Ohio St. / Michigan coming to town, the BIG doesn’t move the needle. Or do I think we would ever be able to compete on the SEC level And get to 10 or 11 wins.

I find it hard to believe that Florida and South Carolina would go with this. Or the North Carolina legislators would allow Carolina to leave Duke, Wake and State behind. And who wants Virginia?

Unfortunately there is no parity in CFB. When they reduced scholarships, you saw it for a season or two until the big boys figured it out. About the only solution is to limit it to about 15 scholarships a year, but with NIL money, they would find a loophole. With the rare exception, 90% of CFB...

That scenario would be a nightmare for the committee. That’s my main concern about moving to 12. The SEC getting 4-5 teams in and the BIG getting in another 2-3. ND would still have a better route in a Conference. A conference champ could conceivably have multiple losses versus an at large...
