  1. Bracketology - Let's Do This

someone on twitter yesterday posted a stat about the # of games gonzaga has played this year that finished in less than 2 hours. cant recall the stat, but it was a lot of games.
  2. Bracketology - Let's Do This

Ayo avgs 20ppg. only 9 at this point.
  3. Bracketology - Let's Do This

iowa's defense is abysmal. mostly (but not entirely) bc garza really struggles vs PNR. having watched about a dozen of their games this year, it's fascinating bc they are so so good on offense and so so bad on defense. it's a race to see who can score the most game after game.
  4. March Madness Scheme Talk

watching illini vs loyola and cant help but wonder if loyola would have immediately doubled the post vs moses like they are vs kofi. but if they did, this graphic and stats indicate we would have handled it much better than illini (so far). also watching illini guards struggle to feed post when...
  5. Returning players for 2021-22

my exact thoughts. both paragraphs. if everyone leaves, or even if it's just jose and moses that leave, we must must must schedule soft OOC in nov and dec. give young(ish) team time to develop and gel. no need for P6 opponents except for uga and ACC/BIG matchup. 2 months of easier games and...
  6. Returning players for 2021-22

everyone is returning and we are winning a natty. #FEARtheSHIELD (curmudgeons, don't want to hear any realistic takes, just want to live in this fantasy land for a short time.)
  7. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

maybe this was posted earlier? if so i missed it. some quality stuff here for GT hoops fans to see...
  8. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

for those unfamiliar with bergeron, it is a fascinating story and he is a fascinating character. in the old world of college hoops, i doubt he would ever get a job at an academic institution. but in modern hoops, where academic pursuits are not even a consideration at many places, he got his...
  9. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

i think howard has a lower ceiling than others, but i still think he could be a very solid respectable back up big man in the ACC the next 2 years. of course, reveno has proven that he can raise the perceived ceiling of alot of guys, so maybe i'm an idiot for putting a ceiling on what he can do...
  10. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

i agree that the lack of early and mid-season PT for howard/saba hurt some tonight. i think even with more PT howard/saba during this season, both would still be a full off-season away from giving us what we needed today. impossible to know, but that's where i see them on their development...
  11. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

i thought howard showed solid growth this year. some fans got too exuberant about his solid game vs miami. he played almost all of that game in the paint (defensively) and did not need to move around the floor much. as i've said elsewhere, he also got a ton of help via post doubles that game...
  12. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

no doubt. clearly. my point was it was more than just his own production. LC was able to adjust their defense at all 5 spots bc moses was out. and that was just enough to neutralize our speed advantage on the perimeter.
  13. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

defensively, they do a great job of making you make plays. they dont make many plays themselves (steals, deflections, blocks, etc), but they force you to make plays without giving you easy stuff (breakdowns, fouls, etc). they might not be athletic enough to force you into mistakes, but they are...
  14. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

williamson was very good in alot of different ways at both ends
  15. Thank you 2020-2021 Georgia Tech Men's Basketball, your ACC Champion!

especially since it is depaul and its not the 1970s
  16. Thank you 2020-2021 Georgia Tech Men's Basketball, your ACC Champion!

that would be a mistake. he's had better offers already. and will get much better offers again.
  17. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

agree. LC passing was very good. veteran team moving the ball right time right place for high quality shots.
  18. Thank you 2020-2021 Georgia Tech Men's Basketball, your ACC Champion!

he has turned down P6 jobs multiple times since 2018
  19. Loyola Chicago (8) vs. Georgia Tech (9), Friday, 4pm ET, TBS

first couple possessions we ran princeton through usher as the 5. then switched to khalid. i suspect (not sure tho bc i did not watch matchups those first possessions) that was because they had CK matched on khalid but with CK sagging off him. so then pastner has to decide does he want CK...
