Honestly I completely forgot about him. He could play into it too depending on when he's actually ready to pitch. If there's an established pecking order by then he could be another great weapon out of the pen.
Well I said "ideally you'd like to have" not need which is a big difference. You definitely don't need 5 but if I'm a coach I'm going to be greedy about it and try to have five potential options if my roster allows it. It's a perfect world kind of thing not a hard rule or anything.
And yes...
That one I actually get. Ideally, you want 5 viable starters to make noise in the post-season. We might be able to get by with 4 because of our bullpen depth and have a pen game. So he wants to see if Pitts could potentially be one of those guys by throwing him mid-week in games that won't...
I was definitely being generous. Mostly because I feel like we may have rushed him back. The time table for Tommy John these days is over a year and we had him throwing game intensity innings after 9-10 months. I think he'll get one more mid-week start to show last year isn't what he is. But...
I mean sure they're not "chopped liver" but they're definitely not Miami, Florida State, Virginia, UNC, etc. The teams we actually have to compete against. They're a decent mid-major program. No less, no more. And just because they had a hot streak at the end of last season and beat a couple...
Definitely a good start to the season. Sounds like the young pitchers looked pretty good. But I'm not going to get too excited over one weekend. Let's see how these guys do against top tier college talent. It's definitely gonna be a challenge for them.
Just please please please don't break...
Had a couple flashbacks to last season. Gold almost getting hurt slipping, then the blister, then Wiseman walking two guys right off the bat. Almost had me doing the 1000-yard stare.
The turf at Levi's has been a mess since the stadium opened. Harbaugh pulled the team off the field during a practice a couple years ago because the condition of it was so poor.
As someone born and raised in NJ you can kiss my *** you inbred redneck hick. You lost the war. Get over it. :D
EDIT: Ahahahaha I read it the same way @Skeptic did. My bad. I was just busting your chops.
Seriously though, your perception of how education is perceived is way off. Georgia...
Don't read too much into it. It's a 53 at bat sample size in the best wood bat summer league after his first year of college. Pitchers always have a huge advantage in those leagues because they can actually pitch inside with way better effectiveness and college batters are typically not used...
I feel for the kids who jump on as the first students. Where I went to undergrad they started a program like that and I was one of the first to go through it and switched majors after a year. Felt like a guinea pig the entire time. Hope they have their **** together better than that.
