Man, you sure are quick to jump off the ledge. Your assessment appears to be based on two games which is silly. Two games don't mean anything in baseball. I don't know how you can say you are what your record is one sentence and then in the next say that a team that's 22-20 (7-11) and...
What was his fastball velocity last year? He was throwing 89-90 for the most part. Is that what he was throwing? I honestly don't remember.
When you have to go to the bullpen in the third inning and you're already losing it's pretty standard practice to go to your B-team relievers. Shelton...
Imagine how Miami would feel getting dragged into two games against Notre Dame just before the tournament despite being nearly guaranteed a top 2 finish.
It very well could be something we do here. But like I said in another thread a few weeks ago these kids are basically abused for years before they ever get here. We'll probably never know for sure.
Well errors and fielding percentage aren't a great way to evaluate defense. It's too bad there's not real alternative for college. I think our guys are pretty good defensively which is what makes the errors frustrating.
I'm going to keep beating the drum on this until my arm falls off but...
Did you even follow the game? Every time a pitcher started to lose it he pulled them. What the **** else is he supposed to do? The guy doesn't have a crystal ball.
Well I'd say this is a much more positive outcome. Hopefully Parr can soak up a bunch of innings so we can have a fresh pen tomorrow while we force them to burn through their guys.
Well like I said, that is some voo doo back luck bull****. The lightning delay hurts us too as I doubt we'll throw Gorst out there after the long delay.
I'm out and tyring to peek at the box score every once in a while. What happened? He literally slipped? Well that's some ****. Gold's gotta pick up his defense there though. Can't let the flood gates open.
Passed us in what context? Last I saw we were projected to make a regional at the end of the year and they weren't so I'm leaning towards no on this one. They had a well pitched game from their future first-rounder. No more no less.
Gorst is an interesting option. I know it's not super unusual for some teams to start their closers in post-season play and just let them throw until they hit their limit. Maybe he can hold the other team for a few innings and let the offense put up some runs. I'd be ok with it.
No way dude. To hell with that noise. We're one game under .500 in conference play, have a top 30 RPI, and there's still 18 games left to play. We haven't been eliminated from anything yet. Not even close. Let's worry about next year when there's nothing left to play for this year. I'm...
If you're referring to me you're asking the wrong guy because I haven't used it before this year. The issue you'd hear me cite the past couple years wasn't youth but injuries and related depth issues. I wrote a novel about it at the end of last season. To be honest I don't really remember the...
That's a bad comparison. No one who covers or follows the sport outside of GT thought we were going to make much noise this year. Nobody was hyping us. We have a predominantly freshman pitching staff. That's not a recipe for immediate success. The only pre-season hype came from fans who...
