The 40 is also tough to judge from watching a kid in live action football. Technique plays a huge role in logging a good time. I'm certain that some kids capable of running 4.3's and 4.4's come out and run 4.5's and 4.6's due to poor technique. If he optimizes his technique and has a great run...
Born in early 90's... As a kid, I enjoyed watching PJ Daniels run for ~300 yards vs Tulsa in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl. I also enjoyed watching Tech beat up on Syracuse the following with some freshman wideout named Calvin Johnson who was pretty good. From 2005 on I believe we went on a bowl...
I'm really hoping that Benson exceeds all of our expectations. It's nice to have a 1-2 punch at BB, even if the 2nd punch is used somewhat sparingly (4-6 carries per game or so)
"He was very honest with me and upfront"
- HB on CPJ
This is a consistent theme among recruits. Happy to hear it. I know it's not the case in all programs.
Good point about MJ. We need him to improve in his overall ability to run the option, make reads, and make pitches. JT5 was very smooth and his ability to make difficult, sometimes dangerous pitches will be missed.
describing it as "bad" was little harsh. I just remember him getting jerked down so easily by a UGAg lineman as if he weighed 150 lbs... Looking back, I am beginning to realize how much we relied on Jaybo. He came in to some tough situations.
Didn't mean to come across as such an ***. I apologize. Good points. Agree to disagree. I think I am partial to Nesbitt and to the QB position. I appreciate Jaybo and agree he was valuable to us because, heck, he had to play a good bit and we would've been in major trouble without him. As for...

No reason to LOL
1) Jaybo wouldn't have beaten GA... he saw playing time in 08 and 09 in games vs UGA and it was bad. He did fine against the MSST's and Duke's of the world but he would never have beaten UGA.
2) CPJ himself stated that the #1 goal of the 2008 team was to beat UGA. You cannot...
I didn't mean to imply that you stated that Calvin would've won those games. I understood that you meant Jaybo. IMO, we don't beat FSU or Clemson with Jaybo and we most definitely do not beat UGA in 2008 with Jaybo Shaw. He entered the game for a series or two and was thrown about like a rag...
Here is the only video I could find from back in '07:
I think Demaryius was NFL bound...with his ball skills combined with hize size:speed ratio, he is hard to miss. It is interesting to consider, though. Josh was set on playing QB, or else he would've went to UGA or some other factory as a...
Not just high school. The kid was a beast on special teams and showed promise at receiver his freshman season. He was 6'4, 215 with all the ability in the world. We don't currently have a receiver on the roster that would hold a candle to Donley from a pure talent/ability standpoint. His ceiling...
BC, Clemson, UGA, and FSU would've been tough. I do think 6-7 is more fitting after looking at our schedule. I was at the Gardner Webb game that year with Calvin Booker playing QB... wow
I'll give you some credit for points 1 & 2 but what Candeto did as a junior for a 2-10 Navy team in 2002 is not comparable to what Josh did in 2008. Stats often don't tell an accurate story of a QB. Some years Tevin technically had "better" stats than Josh and arguably Justin for some years, but...
I would love to see what would've happened if O'Leary would've stayed. I once ran into Joe Burns... actually at the University of Georgia's practice football facility where he was doing work for his RisingSeniors Foundation. He told me that Coach O'Leary was the type of coach that "you would run...
I think Gailey's horrendously boring offense and inability to win more than 7 games with talented players such as Calvin Johnson along with many other very talented young men is the primary reason CPJ is wearing the white and gold today. 7-5, 7-5, 7-5... He was a 7-win machine. And the fashion...
