Well, we don’t really know exactly what Coach Key’s arrangement with the two co-offensive coordinators is. Perhaps Coach Key will provide more details about it later.
I suspect the UGA Athletic Department hasn’t terminated Faulkner’s contract with them yet.
Faulkner is now on two separate payrolls.
It was worked out between UGA (Smart) and GT (Key) in advance.
And UGA will finally terminate its contract with Faulkner after the CFP playoffs end.

It’s the chicken that comes first. We now have a new AD who comes from Alabama. He knows how it works at the highest competitive level, and he will implement it at Georgia Tech.

That is certainly possible.
I think Brent and Chris know who they want. This person may, indeed, “already be in the bag.”
I’m not worried, as I’m willing to wait for the announcement when it comes.
It’s impossible to know what’s going on with Key’s OC recruiting efforts. But I suspect-guess the OC who has agreed to come to GT is most likely with a team that is currently going to a bowl game, and not on one of the four top-ranked teams in the playoffs.
