  1. CFP Discussion

I'll disagree on that one. If Mich, FSU, TX and AL all win - FSU gets in. No way the committee is going to leave out a 13-0 conference champ that has 3 road/neutral wins over CFP Top 25 opponents. I think Bama would actually be the one left out in that scenario. FWIW, the Colley Bias Free...
  2. CFP Discussion

FWIW, here are the CFP resumes for the 7 teams I think are in contention for a spot. UGA - wins #9 Missou, #11 Ole Miss, #21 TN(@), remaining game #8 AL Mich - wins #6 Oh ST, #10 Penn St(@), remaining game #16 Iowa Wash - wins #5 OR, #15 AZ(@), #20 OR ST(@), remaining game #5 OR FSU - wins #13...
  3. 2023 Coaching Carousel

Deion also stated a couple of weeks ago they weren't playing players to come to Colorado. They were coming because they wanted to be there. That tells me his NIL pool is probably not overly deep. I also have no clue how many he really plans to bring in for next season. He doesn't have alot of...
  4. 2023 Coaching Carousel

Currently at 9 commits. FWIW, 5 of the 9 are from GA (mostly S. GA - 2 from Valdosta, 2 from Statesboro, 1 from Millegeville).
  5. GT Top 20 PFF Season Scores

That feels exactly right. Strong at the skill positions, weaker in the trenches.
  6. Stats models and rankings

This Iowa team is one of the biggest anamolies in CFB history. It won 10 games with a team that avg less than 250 ypg of offense. The previous high for a team with less than 250 ypg of offense was 4 wins. But when you only give up more than 16 points once all season (31-0 loss to Penn St) you...
  7. Bowl Projections & Rumors

I completely overlooked ND. With them not going to a NY6 bowl they absolutely get an ACC bowl bid and will get one of the best ones available as every bowl will want them due to their fanbase. They will likely be the first school taken after FSU and L'ville.
  8. Bowl Projections & Rumors

Charlotte is always looking for a school from NC first - so NCST, UNC and Duke are likely all higher on their list than GT. I suspect VT will be higher on their list than GT as well. Clemson is one they would like as well if they are available when they select.
  9. ACC Standings

That list seems pretty good to me. I remember at the beginning of the season watching a show before the TCU-Colorado game and they talked about whether TCU or Colorado would be the bigger story. I remember thinking to myself at the time that Colorado would probably be the most talked about 4-8...
  10. Shout out to Dontae Smith

He was a big part of why our offense played well down the stretch. He runs so hard, I also felt like Jamal Haynes ran harder and was more willing to run inside after Smith returned.
  11. ACC Standings

I will say one thing about this year's GT team. If you look at its stats (both overall and ACC) they just scream 6-6. The numbers are just so close for both GT and its opponents in so many categories. Looking at overall stats (GT - OPP). PPG 31.2 - 30.5 YPG 429.1 - 438.2 First Downs 269 - 268...
  12. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

Wanted to congratulate Haynes on an outstanding season for us. He is currently #28 in the QBR ratings. That is the highest rating for a QB at GT since Justin Thomas was #15 in 2016 (he was #5 in 2014). He's a big part of why our offense was so much better this year. Here's to hoping he is even...
  13. CFP Discussion

AL needs alot to happen to have a chance to get in, starting with TX losing. TX win against Bama (at Bama no less) effectively blocks AL ceiling. Head to head is a major component in what the committee uses. If TX wins, then AL can not finish ahead of it in the committee by any means. If WASH...
  14. ACC Standings

Here is how I would rank the teams this season. FSU L'ville NC ST VT Clemson GT Duke UNC Miami BC Pitt Syracuse UVA Wake While GT tied for 4th with VT, GT's PPG differential looks more like a 4-4 type team (which makes sense given the gift Miami win). So I would give VT the edge there. Clemson...
  15. CFP Discussion

I actually think there is relatively little for the committee to do this year. I believe 3 of the 4 spots are already spoken for. I believe UGA and Michigan are in, win or lose in their conference championships. Even if they lose they will be the highest one loss rated teams by the committee...
  16. 60 years since GT left the SEC

It may have been a terrible decision, but would GT be in a better position today than it is if it had stayed in the SEC? That's actually 2 separate issues. It's not an automatic that staying in the SEC would have made things better today. That is a discussion that can be argued either way. As...
  17. Conference Realignment

ND's former AD mentioned a few years ago he thought the split that was coming in FBS was an academic vs non-academic one. There would be colleges that basically would want to play the game where kids didn't have to go to school, would be payed, etc. There would be a separate league for colleges...
  18. ACC Standings

I actually think it is the reverse. The potential fallacy in their position is that they are treating the portal as a one way stop and it is not. While players who are not contributing at the blue blood schools are transferring out, they are offsetting this by bringing in guys who are playing at...
  19. Conference Realignment

Bingo. This is why I hope for a continued strong(er) ACC. ACC is easily the best fit for GT. B1G would be fine from an academic standpoint for the ACC, but it does not fit from a geographic standpoint and it does not fit from a school alumni perspective - with just a couple of exceptions B1G...
  20. ACC Standings

The issues with this are that all the schedules would have been different, so all of the records would be different. From a GT perspective you would only have played one game against L'ville, BC, Wake and Syracuse and would pick up games against VT, Duke and Pitt.
