  1. A few things.

We are about where I expected us to be. The Duke game is the first time this year since maybe the FSU game where I feel like we go in with some structural advantages (against FSU it was having alot of people back vs a team that had a lot of portal players). Against Duke we get to come off a bye...
  2. ACC QB Rankings Week 4

in the ESPN QBR Rankings it goes Ward (#2 overall) Klubnik (#3) King (#10) Shough (#15) McCord (#34) https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr
  3. Louisville Postgame

Somebody closer to the team may know better but it seems like we are beat up at RB. Haynes hasn't really looked right since the Ga St game. Alexander got hurt, Cooley is out. The FR Maddox and Carrie have both shown flashes - I think they could be really good in another yr. They are a little...
  4. Louisville Postgame

I'm really glad we have the bye next week, this team needs it. I'm looking forward to seeing how the team looks after the bye. I'm expecting something closer to the FSU game. We also finally have an advantage where we will be coming off some rest and Duke is going to be coming off a big game for...
  5. Louisville Postgame

As I have said before he is easily our best player on offense and i'm glad he is our QB. But lets not overrate him either. He is a very good college QB, but not a great one. His arm is above average but it isn't great - the ball doesn't really jump off of it. He is often late and/or behind on...
  6. Some optimistic tidbits for those losing hope

FWIW, we haven't won or loss more than 2 games in a row under Key, I don't really expect that to change based on what we have seen so far this year. I'm just staying optimistic that we can get to at least 6 wins and a bowl game this year.
  7. Some optimistic tidbits for those losing hope

I'm hardly losing hope, we are about what I thought, we have a ways to go. There is a mix of good and bad. Typical of a middle of the pack P4 team. I'll also be very surprised if we sweep - Duke, UNC, NCST and VT - that is pretty unlikely. The talent levels are pretty similar between all those...
  8. Louisville Postgame

Honestly I don't even look at a game like VMI - they are glorified scrimmages - very seldom does what a team do against an FCS opponent translate against a P4 opponent. It is absolutely true that the reason King has thrown over 30 passes in most of those games is that we are behind and having...
  9. Louisville Postgame

GT is now 0-7 when King throws more than 30 times in a game. Having King throw the ball alot is not a winning strategy. He's our best offensive player by a mile, but he is not good enough to carry the team on his back. For whatever reason the offensive line is not playing anywhere near as well...
  10. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

My thoughts on this are that most AA's will try to do this. They will attempt to pass this cost along to the consumer to the extent that the consumer will accept it. Also, all this just further shows that the more things change the more things stay the same. I don't think NIL/pay to play -...
  11. Bottom 25

Most recent Bottom 25. FSU is the only P4 program to make the list this week. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-rankings-florida-state-still-wallowing-in-bottom-25-as-lone-power-four-representative/
  12. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

One other note on this. All of this depends upon the House settlement which the judge has currently sent back to the parties to renegotiate. Also, in an article I read schools see the $23M number more as a floor not a ceiling. Schools that have the resources are expected to spend way more than...
  13. TN to add 'talent fee' to all tickets

TN is adding a 10% 'talent fee' to all tickets (single game and season) to help pay for revenue sharing with Student Athletes. This will be in addition to any other increases they decide to make...
  14. On To Louisville

The good news is the next week is a bye, so i'll take a win vs L'ville and a loss to Bye. :D
  15. FSU

FWIW, Norvell is 3-9 at FSU without Travis at QB.
  16. Conference Realignment

While I thought that FSU 'deserved' to get a CFP bid, the committee made it clear that their job was to try to pick the 4 'best' teams and without Jordan Travis it was obvious FSU was not one of those. If Travis had not gotten injured I believe FSU would have gotten a bid.
  17. Conference Realignment

ND has made it very clear it will not join a conference for Football as long as they have a legitimate way to the CFP. As bad as the NIU loss is, if they were to go undefeated the rest of the way they would definitely make the CFP. Even a 2 loss ND is probably a 50/50 bet for the CFP. This is...
  18. On To VMI

Just as an FYI. Under Key GT is 9-1 after losing the previous game. 3-9 after winning the previous game. (Note this is games within a season only, not across seasons). The only loss came in 2022 when GT lost to FSU the week after losing to UVA.
  19. On To VMI

Honestly, I am not worried about this game. That will change if it is still close by late third quarter. I expect GT to react well this week after a loss and beat a team that simply has inferior talent by alot. I am not concerned about a Bowling Green or Citadel redo.
  20. How good are the Quarterbacks we face?

He is already way up there at #14. Also, if King is throwing alot that is generally a bad sign for GT. GT is 0-6 when King has attempted more than 30 passes in a game. 9-1 when King attempts 30 or fewer passes - the only loss is to UGA. Just shows what GT wants to do. If GT is forced to pass...
