Good points. Not sure about getting a bowl bid unless King, Haynes and one more RB get fully healthy! Hard to rest guys as they are competitors and will play hurt unless the staff won't let them. I am always curious why anyone ever mentions Blackburn - until he actually contributes he is a...
I guess 102 teams have a worse offense that play FBS football. Do they play pee wee football! Have a cold beer and take a deep breath. Currently we do not have the offensive players healthy enough to do much. King and Haynes need to get truly healthy or we are in huge trouble going forward...
Simply we lack talented player depth. Nothing new for GT. Our #1 RB is clearly playing hurt. #s2-4 are all out. That leaves a true freshman who is the #5 RB as the other RB. You expect excellence from that! Nuts!
Couple that with backup QBs and presto our offense sucks!
Actually that was likely the high end for this season. We are clearly a much improved defensive team. Without King the offense is bad in a word. Our STs still have major issues with the punt and punt return teams.
LOL - pay attention - before today!
VT - # 32 of 138 in scoring offense at 32.1 ppg // GT - #55 in scoring offense at 30.4 ppg
VT - #65 in total offense at 398 yards / game // GT - #39 in total offense at 431 yards/game
We gain 31 more yards per game but VT scores 2 more points per game...
It is 100% clear that a healthy King makes our offense a good offense. Add a healthy Haynes makes the running game much better. King did not play and the drop off to the backups is like falling off a cliff. It is very clear that Haynes in not healthy. He has no wiggle or lateral hop or burst...
Agree with everything except - Miami's offense is simply too good this year. King needs to get fully healthy. It is concerning seeing him miss 2 games with "an upper body injury." Hope he is able to return this season.
This board loves the back up QB way too much. It’s very clear King makes our offense go. 13 points last week and 6 this week without King.
#5 had a horrible day and his WRs didn’t help him. #22 was solid but no points produced. His receivers didn’t help him either.
Defense played very well...
If you follow the discussion, there have been several back and forth comments, the numbers in that post don't account for our first two possessions thru our first TD and our last TD drive (late 4th quarter) which was a stretch of around 3 full quarters. The 60 yard play came during the bad 3...
The 3 Pick 6s were all by Linebackers playing zone defense very well. One was on a tipped ball. Their DBs and their coaching was not in the mix on those 3 plays.
Pyron had one excellent pass to #4 that went for 60 yards and resulted in a botched FG. He had 90 yards in the rest of the 3 quarters in this discussion. One excellent pas and run play in 3 quarters is not very good regardless of what one's memory believes.
And from the first TD to the last TD drive Pyron was not effective throwing the ball. Football is a team game and the opponent has a say in the outcome. None of that changes the fact that Zach was not effective passing the ball for nearly 3 quarters.
Now he was very effective to start and...
Good explanation! The truth hurts at times and our 3 losses were games where we were clearly outplayed. You "analysis" matches the eyeball test as well!
In a stretch where the game is still competitive Pyron going 5-19 with 2 interceptions clearly poor to bad?
Let me repeat - Pyron started the game passing very well hitting the right receiver on time with accuracy. His last drive he was again accurate and on time with his throws. We got TDs...
Prey was really bad in that game. The 2 guys with the same jersey number on a Rutgers punt that turned into a FG after the 5 yard penalty is about the only thing our Special Teams haven't done yet. Game would have been an OT game had that not occurred.
I guess we disagree. He played very well for 3 drives. He played poorly the rest of the game. There are always many reasons a QB plays well or poor that are more than the individual.
ND was clearly the better team on Saturday. How Leonard played lookin at statistics is not very relevant as...
The eyeballs said Pyron started the game throwing good passes to the correct reads. From the first TD until the last TD drive he was both making many poor decisions and throwing many poor passes. He was the QB that game so he is the only QB we can base anything on. Overall he did not have a...
My concern is our defensive weaknesses are pressuring the opposing QB and covering receivers while the opposing QB has time in the pocket. That is a very bad place for us to be vs Miami as their strength on offense is an elite passing game. Ward is very elusive as well. Turnovers are our best...
going 11-27 from the point we scored our first TD is dreadful. No chance to win when you include 2 Interceptions in the 16 incompletions. It was a tough opponent to have his first playing time in 2 years. He started great. Then it went down. His last drive was solid. Between the 2 TD...
