    Has the hype been humbled?

Recruiting. He will succeed or fail on the recruiting trail. Games this year matter only inasmuch as they impact recruiting. I know that sucks to hear but you have to let a guy succeed by doing what he does. Collins is a recruiter.

    Has the hype been humbled?

Guys, this is STILL true. You can judge Collins in 3 years not 3 weeks.

    Has the hype been humbled?

I'm just saying, 3 years after he left MSU, they were top 10 nationally, 4 years they were number 1. AGAIN I"M NOT CRAPPING ON COLLINS, I'm just saying by the numbers, his defenses look like about what you might expect the defenses at those schools to look with [INSERT DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR...

    Has the hype been humbled?

I'd be in. I was just going based upon what he did at Temple and what I saw last night. I'm open minded :)

    Has the hype been humbled?

    PERFECTLY valid. Great post! Here are Johnsons's OFEI's 2018: 19 2017: 30 2016: 31 2015: 87 2014: 3 2013: 38 2012: 12 2011: 13 2010: 67 I'm going to make the argument that recruting to Georgia Tech is a different animal than recruiting to Florida or Mississippi State, BUT you'd be completely...

    Has the hype been humbled?

I'd like your opinion about why this is nonsense? I feel like the numbers are pretty solidly in my camp. Here are UF's last 6 seasons of DFEI. Collins seasons are bolded: 2013: 6 2014: 5 2015: 17 2016: 8 2017: 50 2018: 22 Here are MSU's seasons including the seasons before and after Collins...

    Has the hype been humbled?

Maybe. We'll find out in the next 3 or 4 years :) To wit, here are the FEI ratings for the defenses he has coached (either as DC or HC) 2018, Temple: 42 2017, Temple: 36 2016, Florida: 8 2015, Florida: 17 2014, MSU: 16 2013, MSU: 18 2012, MSU: 44 2011, MSU: 17 2010: MSU: 63 I see: Always...

I saw it last night that stitt is the OC at Texas State, so I'll be keeping an eye on them as well.

    Has the hype been humbled?

Guys, I'm literally the biggest Paul Johnson fan here. Of all of you. I'm the single biggest CPJ apologist. ALSO, Collins rubs me the wrong way, personally. I wouldn't be a big fan no matter who he followed, or at which school he coached. I'm largely disinterested in UVA because our coach has...

    Has the hype been humbled?

I think he's like me, and finds CGC's style offputting. Some of us are like that. Guys like him will always rub guys like us the wrong way. It is what it is.

    Clemson Postgame

You learned that you can evaluate your coaching staff in 3 years. You knew that 4 hours ago.

Defending the the zone read option from an even front

100% Like you said, there are a million bells and whistles you can implement (invert the squeeze/scrape by firing the LB into the weakside B gap across the face of the OT, fire the CB, run a twist with various DL's, etc). This was just to lay out the 3 basic schemes you'll see most often.

Defending the the zone read option from an even front

Sorry for the diagram size. I had to resize them to get hte originals from the web, so they're not all well sized like they were in my email. Anyhow, I know this is pretty dry, but this fanbase has botten pretty X&Oish over the last decade, and thought you might enjoy.

Defending the the zone read option from an even front

So, this has been on my mind lately for my own reasons, and with you guys playing Clemson, I thought you might find it interesting. Clemson played a large part in popularizing the zone read option at Clemson in the late 90's. Modern zone read option is an INCREDIBLY multiple play, but really...

Hey boys, you guys might enjoy this (you might not)

Southern. LOL, just COULDN'T BE more stereotypical SoCal :) Soooo, yes, you could do all that stuff, and maybe next year. We're probably not going to start installing wings until halfway through the season anyhow. These kids have to learn the I fundamentals, because in the past they were...
