Based upon last year, I can't say I blame them. This team is still very much a work in progress. To improve upon our three wins last year, we must improve line play on both sides of the ball. We will go as far as our play in the trenches take us.
We got a big break dropping UNC, Virginia Tech, UGA, and UVA and picking up BC, Syracuse, and Louisville? We still have Clemson and Notre Dame and lose a sure win with Gardner Webb but we should win at least three or four. Some people are saying Louisville will be tough but they won a lot of...
Makes sense. Accuracy seems to be a problem with all of Tech's quarterbacks but that what happens when your offensive line was ranked number 130 in the nation last year. The old "Chuck and Duck" offense was on full display.
I read somewhere that Sims has been a force in practice thus far. I wonder why Norvell (spelling?) did not want to sign him? He grew up an FSU fan and was all set to sign and the Coach says no. Not that I am complaining mind you.
I don't know, but I think that offensive linemen in most offenses are taught to cut block on quick passing plays, especially slants, to get defensive linemen to lower their hands to defeat the cut block which gives the quarterback a better throwing lane. Others more knowledgeable may disagree.
Personally, if someone doesn't put a hat on some of those defensive linemen and linebackers it won't matter who the quarterback is. When we were in passing situations of 2nd and 7 or more, our quarterbacks were sacked about 15% of the time which was the highest rate in the ACC and almost dead...
After listening to the whole press conference, I can't help but be impressed with Coach Collins' emphasis on continuing to develop the culture and accountability of players and coaches. I want him to succeed but this team has a long way to go. It would be nice to play the full ten game...
Lots of elbow room and plenty of room to stretch out. Many a time, I was in the north stands and had plenty of space just about like that. Never against Clemson, Auburn, UGA, or Tennessee though.
There are some teams...Duke comes to mind that the 500 limit is about what they bring to Atlanta. I think Tech should limit UGA and Clemson to 5000 max.
I kind of doubt, without knowing, that these quotes are from the head coaches. They may be farmed out to assistants or coordinators. It does not say in the magazine if they are head coaches it just says "Opposing coaches". It is interesting and different from anything you see in Sporting...
I was watching the Tech vs Virginia game from last year. A role model if you will for James would be Bryce Perkins the quarterback for Virginia. He could be that kind of guy for Tech. One thing that Perkins did so well was go to secondary receivers and make lightning fast decisions. James...
Four or so a game? Seems like when Bill Lewis was coach the offense left the defense hanging with a lot of three and outs. Today, it is even worse with offenses going up and down the field.
Is there a stat on "three and outs"? I wouldn't be surprised. What is considered "excessive"? I know there were times when I thought the punter was going to have his leg fall off.
You know it doesn't do a damn bit of good right? A boy down the street from me was 18 years old and died of COVID. He had sickle cell anemia so while tragic, it was understandable. You are ridiculous for trying to virtue signal this masking nonsense. The country is blowing up in spite of...
