Forgive me for being thankful for the win with no injuries but less than impressed with blowing out a team that was outclassed at every position and trying to play with a 3rd string quarterback. If the line would give Yates or Sims more time we could be competitive next week but that is not...
You got it. Tech came out fast with a 24-3 halftime lead. Good job by the Jackets. We may have a quarterback controversy brewing soon with Yates' performance but we will see. Sims is still probably our best bet against ACC competition.
Did he turn the ball over against Louisville last year? Seems like the reason we won is because they turned it over and we didn't. Could be wrong about that.
Thank you. I am guessing that he was perhaps, not the first string quarterback but second team. Another senseless murder. 50 shots fired at his car...tragic and unnecessary.
Stop them on first down to force 2nd and long and they won't get to limit our possessions. Score touchdowns early and often will have them chasing the game as someone put it in soccer terms. I refuse to believe that a FCS team on their 3rd string quarterback should be anything more than a...
Yep. I am trying to be positive here. Watching KSU run their version it seems different from the Citadel I actually thought KSU was more of a pure option team. They run that damn bone and keep running it no matter what.
I don't know about you but I am hoping and praying that Sims comes out and shows people what he is capable of and force them out of their comfort zone down a couple of scores. Their passing is, to be charitable, erratic but they do have good athletes at quarterback and speed on the outside...
I think his point is that if Tech were to come out and play with their hair on fire and was reasonably well coached on defense, we should be able to beat an FCS team even one ranked #15 and has been in the playoffs three years in a row. I watched a couple of their games from 2019 and the...
I don't know but in Geoff's defense he has a much greater scrutiny involved with the internet, talk shows, and wisenheimers like me second guessing everything but then he gets well paid for it.
I stand corrected then but did he play college ball in Pennsylvania? I did not know he invented the cover 2 while at Pittsburgh. He did great work in the pros. I guess he was one of those guys that was best suited to be a coordinator and not the face of the program.
You are correct it was Doug Barfield who had quite a collection of backfield talent in his time. William Andrews among others. Just not a whole lot of success. I am not surprised at how surly he was or how he demeaned the players. It must have been...difficult to have been a player under...
I don't know about Carson being a "Yankee". Maybe he was but he played as a defensive back at UNC. He believed in conditioning and outhitting the other team. Those were physical years to be sure.
He can shake and bake for sure. "Adequate arm" is about right. They are different in some ways from the Paul Johnson triple option scheme but a lot of similarities too. This should be very interesting to watch.
We can blow this team right out of the stadium based on what I saw last week with KSU playing Reinhardt. Crowd the line of scrimmage and tackle the quarterback as he is their best athlete and runner though not the fastest guy. Play man to man on the outside and dare them to throw the ball...
You are correct. It was the 69-14 debacle that I was referencing. I still do not understand how any team could lose that badly and then to a rather mediocre at best Navy team and still beat UGA in the last game of the season. It is a funny game sometimes.
