I was listening to Podcast #16, during an interview with Key, Key said about coming back to Georgia Tech,
"Georgia Tech created a lot of the things I am very proud of today and made me who I am today".
I couldn't agree more and use that on the recruiting trips when you talk to the kids.
As an old geezer and decades old season ticket holder, am glad to see a seven game season.
Look forward to yelling at the officials from the east upper deck again in 2019.
(Sorry to fellow fans that have to listen to me ; ) )
TheTechGuy either you have missed my point or I have missed yours.
I believe your point is that a student/athlete scholarship status should not be discussed on this board. If so, I respect your opinion.
Then you should ask the moderators to close this thread.
What has transpired between whomever is not at all in question here. What demands am I making?
Animal02, do you think the kid earned a scholarship or not. If not, that's fine. If so, what is the argument?
You and I clearly do not see this the same way. Honor has nothing to do with this. Did the kid earn a scholarship or not? If so, give him a scholarship, if not do not offer. Simple. Does not matter who knows. What the circumstances are.
Are you guys really saying a scholarship offer...
Again I ask, what difference does one's financial status make towards giving a player a scholarship?
Every freshman coming into Tech has the hope scholarship his freshman year. Otherwise he would not be at Tech. And many (my son included) loses the hope after the first year. So again, that...
Let me get this straight. There are those on this board that believe someones financial status has some sort of bearing on whether a kid gets a scholarship?
If that is correct, please explain why that has anything to do with football?
Why would we assume a drop off from this year? I believe anything less than a bowl appearance would be a disappointment.
I believe we have an offensive line that can be coached up to pass block, plenty of talent at running back, young talent in the defensive backfield and possibly LB. If the...
Great win for the bball team. Actually drained free throws at the end of the game.
But a great showing for Collins as well. The line for autographs was insanely long which to me was very encouraging. GTpdm I hope you got to get to meet him.
Collins halftime speech had the Thrillerdome on...
One aspect of the presser I enjoyed, was his excitement about getting back to Atlanta. Especially his comment about his wife being happy. Keeping mama happy is important.
I also grew up out past Columbia Drive...
I gotta believe that his enthusiasm and salesmanship can do wonders for...
OK mutt you got me. I am going to admit I did not make the game. I had the opportunity to go to the Galapagos Islands. This is only the second home game I have missed since 1985. The other was because my son had a football game. I have been in the East Upper Deck watching attendance drop...
Fair point, but Tech has not shown they are putting winning seasons together. Perhaps many have already written off the season.
I do not recall how many seasons ago it was that ugag was going through a couple of rough seasons and my ugag friends remarked they were not going to Athens again...
Not to bring the subject back to the original post, but just listened to the last of the interview.
I really did laugh out loud because of his comment "I did not know we had a flagship station".
As far as attendance. Fans come when you win games. This is not the chicken or the egg thing...
An observation I made at the game. And all previous Tech Miami games.
The Tech fans are all alumni or related to an alumni.
Miami fans, not...
Or did I miss something?
Agree with this. Like to see LBs aggressive to the ball.
Defense is so much more fun when you play physical. Isn't that the idea behind the Woody defensive style. Aggressive and physical.
BRING BACK THE BLACK WATCH!!!
If you watch the mesh, notice the quarterbacks hands. If it is a dive/midline/other to the b back, he may only use one hand during the handoff. You can tell for sure it is not an option if the quarterback does not have two hands on the ball. The option to the b back requires two hands.
I...
I always enjoy your analysis. Great that you break it down to show how simple and complicated this offense can be.
I especially liked how you highlighted the QB read on the dive option. Carolina did an interesting ploy of faking who was taking the B back and how the QBs were making better...
