ATLANTA, GA - After upsetting the Clemson Tigers at Bobby Dodd Stadium last week and finishing ACC play with a 6-2 conference record, Georgia Tech clinched the ACC Coastal title on Thursday night when Carolina handed Duke its third conference loss of the season.

For the third time since head coach Paul Johnson was hired in 2008, Georgia Tech will represent the Coastal division in the ACC Championship Game. Tech will face ACC Atlantic Champion Florida State Seminoles, a team that has been undefeated since their win against Georgia Tech in the 2012 ACC Championship game.

The Dr. Pepper ACC Football Championship Game will be played on December 6 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Kickoff will be at 8 PM ET.

ATLANTA, GA - Continuing a late season trend of aggressiveness and forcing turnovers, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defense turned in their best performance of the year Saturday. The Jackets (9-2, 6-2) forced three interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns, and finished off Clemson with two fourth quarter sacks en route to a 28-6 victory over Clemson (7-3, 6-2) Saturday afternoon at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Georgia Tech's prolific offense struggled for most of the first half. Clemson's equally prolific defense was at fault, forcing Tech into rare negative plays and disrupting the Jackets' offensive rhythm in the early going. As a result Tech's five first half possessions yielded 3 total points.

Clemson used their early momentum to jump out to a 3-0 lead on their second possession of the game. On their third possession the complexion of the game changed. Driving deep into Georgia Tech territory Clemson true freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson converted a first down run to the Georgia Tech 14 yard line. That play, it turned out, would be Watson's last as he left the game with a knee injury and did not return.

In came senior quarterback Cole Stoudt, Clemson's season-opening starter who continued in the role for most of the season. Three plays after Watson's injury, Georgia Tech safety Jamal Golden read Clemson's offensive formation, jumped a cross-field pass from Stoudt, and returned the interception 85 yards for the touchdown.

ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-0) tipped off their season with a bang against rival Georgia Bulldogs (0-1) Friday night at McCamish Pavilion. Hustling out to an early 14-5 lead the Jackets never allowed the Bulldogs to get within striking distance en route to an 80-73 statement victory.

Competing against a Georgia team projected by many to make NCAA tournament, the Jackets responded to the challenge in resounding fashion. Tech's starting five of Travis Jorgenson, Marcus Georges-Hunt, Quinton Stephens, Charles Mitchell, and Demarco Cox energized the crowd from the opening tip. Mitchell and Cox dominated the paint from the get-go, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks respectively.
