1. Jamal Golden. So nice to see him back to ... being him. :)

2. Chris Milton. I think it was him that got the crucial block on Lance's run.

Just trying to think outside the box a bit... I thought Jackettron person, whoever that is, effectively piped in music to keep the crowd energy going. A few odd song choices no doubt, otherwise it reminded me of VT '09 w/ "All the way Turnt up" in terms of effectiveness and crowd response.
Playing LOUD music prior to a GT 3rd down helped drown out the F$U band when they tried to start the F$U war chant that keeps the fans going as JT was calling adjustments.

Also - who ever decided, GT or F$U, to put the F$U band up in the clouds - bravo! It really limited the band's ability to be in the game. I hope to see the UGAg band up there next month.

I'll delete this post in one hour.

That was one of the Austins that tipped the ball Golden intercepted.

I think Butkers KO for touch back was key at end of fourth. Announcers were talking about how dangerous fsu dude was on returns. Was happy to not see a pooch kick or give him opportunity for return.

Lawrence - L20 - is the Austin that helped cause the interception. Heck of a game for the twins.

Not a big play really but Tre Jackson (#25) was a beast every special teams play with the crowd. He was constantly running up and down the stands getting everyone to cheer. One of the first to congratulate all the big plays.

I thought he was going to be our next big LB and he still may but last night he was one of the biggest cheerleaders and I think that shouldn't go unnoticed.

Noticed his "get pumped" gyrations to the student section... loved seeing that.

Found out the details about that before the game. My son and I went on the media tour. During the tour, we noticed the band heading up to the north east corner of the North seating. Ask the guide what was up with that. He said the FSU forgot to include the band in their seat request. Once the fifured out that they didn't have seats for the band, they contacted GT and got a block of seats to accommodate!

Too funny!!!

Watching replay. 2nd qtr, about 6 min b4 the half, FSU driving...Golson completed a pass for a nice 1st down...and got creamed for his trouble by Gotsis. Very similar to the play Gotsis got tossed for earlier in the year....no flag on this one....still rankles. How different would this game have ended if Gotsis got tossed there?

Our defense! Idk if it was FSUs play calling or our defense, but with us bottling up Cook so well it would seem that some deep shots would be there for the taking. I thought they would try a few deep shots to at least back us up some to open up some running room for Cook. Even intermediate throws weren't tried very often. It seemed like the game plan was to run Cook and to throw high percentage short passes and challenge our tackling ability in space. We were up for the challenge but I'm still scratching my head on their play calling. They may have called some deep passes and we just had them covered so well Golston had to check down, I'll have to go back and watch the game and see. Great win, individuals who stood out to me in this order Gotsis, Golden, Lawrence Austin, Mitchell, and I gotta put Lance in there of course.

Lets don't make him out to be the next coming of Tom Brady!

I don't know why you say that. I think JT has shown the ability to use his receivers not unlike Peyton in his heyday. Just needs the opportunity amirite? We can't ignore that part of his game. He can hit guys on the button when he wants.

The lb and db coach that told our guys -- if you are first guy to try to tackle cook in space-- stop and hold ground while pursuit comes. We kept him contained.

Who you got? Here's a few:

BUTKER: Dude canned 3 FG's including a 53-yarder in a tight game. Miss any of those we lose this game. FG unit also protected well which had been suspect. Good job! Also FSU has a very dynamic KR guy and Butker kept parking it in the endzone so he couldn't return it. Just a shout out to another player who came up big in a TEAM win.

GOLDEN: Had a good game defensively, knocking away a key FSU pass at the last second and coming up with the pick. Very sure catching punts and getting what he could.

BRANDT MITCHELL: Continues to develop. Noticed several hard hits in run defense. Kid is going to be a good one.

Golden led team in tackles-9

One of the biggest plays of the game is one most people haven't even talked about, unless I'm missing it. The throw by justin and catch by June right before Justin was almost sacked for the safety. It was one of the top 4 imo with the pick, the catch by stewart, and the blocked kick 6. Also one of Fsu biggest mistakes was the facemask on Justin that allowed us to get into field goal range.

There was a play nobody has mentioned that cost us probably 25-4=21 yards. There was a kickoff returned by MLD up past the 40 yard line. A block in the back penalty at the 8 moved us back to the four. What was missed was the tackle by FSU player #3. HE CAME FROM OUT OF BOUNDS TO MAKE THE PLAY. I saw it in real time but did not know how he got out of bounds until I watched the replay. Since the ref missed it I thought maybe he was pushed out. Not so. He came from the middle of the field, circled to the sideline, and sprinted up the sideline out of bounds to avoid the traffic, came back on the field, and hit Davis from behind when he slowed to make a cut. Big time miss by the refs.
