I don't think it's fair to speculate. It could be that some guys respond to getting beat out for playing time by saying, "I'm going to show them in practice that they made the wrong choice," while others get angry and say, "It doesn't matter."

It just seems to happen a LOT with this coaching staff. They hype a player who then doesn't even really contribute. I guess it's motivation attempts.

Is O'Reily having problems with grades or just in CPJs dog house? If in his dog house, no need to waste a big body...send him over to D and see if Pelton can work with him.

Sometimes they hype a player to motivate another...Burden being the case here. They wanted him to earn the job.
