So after Miami all the Tech fans are concerned it might be a wet game.
1. The Clemson field is 10 times better than that swamp in Miami.
2. It has not been played on in three weeks.
3. They can cover it during the day.
4. The forecast is chance of storms Saturday night.
5. The weather is a fast moving cold front, which we have now in Denver as we are getting light snow. It may be out of there by game time
6. Don't judge our offense from one afternoon playing on a rotten field.

Not a bad stadium, just need to put turf down with the new roof. Traffic is crap, but that is because the police will shut down non football traffic outside the stadium.

Disagree... Wife and I really enjoyed the stadium. Renovations were really nicely done. 10 rows from the field and barely got wet in the monsoon. I would agree that the turf is what the issue is.

Just a note, I've seen it mentioned multiple times lately, but the idea that we are terrible in the rain isn't based on facts. I can think of multiple games we won in the rain and the O played well...

The game in Miami wasn't rain, it was a frickin monsoon on an already soaked field.

Charlotte weather this morning has rain ending in Clemson by 8:00 tomorrow evening. Worst case looks like at least tapering off by game time and not raining for the entire evening.

Both teams have to play in the same weather. We need to stop being so gun-shy about, "Our offense doesn't work in the rain". Clemson's (anyone's) offense has the same issues. What running scheme doesn't have a pulling guard? What pass route doesn't have sharp cuts? On every play, regardless of system, 3 guys are probably going to handle the ball: the center, the QB, and a back/WR.

Now, you might make a case that Miami was better equipped to handle the monsoon with better cleats or whatever ... but Miami's offense/defense had to play in that downpour, too.

I don't agree on the rain adding equal difficulty to all offenses. Footing is a bigger issue for pulling and drive blocking versus pass and zone blocking. All football is harder in the rain, but if you depend on angles you have an extra level of difficulty in the rain.

GT can win in the rain, but the work is more difficult.

True...but the thing I've always felt about the rain is it's easier to play offense than it is to play defense. The offense knows where they're going...the defense does not, necessarily.

You're still moving and footwork is pretty critical. For brevity's sake, some of the footwork depicted here have the exact same steps we have:



And it's not like we drive block and pull every play. Furthermore, it's not like our offense is the only one that pulls guards and drive blocks. In fact, in that game Miami pulled linemen in the downpour. Watch the playside C, G, and backside T.



All I'm saying is both offenses had to play in it and they handled it better than we did.

GT runs east and west a lot more than other teams. It's harder to cut up field north and south after going east and west first.

I agree. Lived in south fl from '11-14. Went to gt/um, 2 phins/pats, and tosu/clem orange bowl. It really is a dump.
