We need to pass more

I think, however, against UGa specifically, we are much better off not throwing as much if we can put death marches together. The fewer possessions UGa has, the better. That will turn up the heat on their somewhat reckless quarterback who does not function well under pressure. If there was ever a game where we need a big lead followed by an extremely aggressive pass rush, its this one.

I miss death marches. Not only are they fun to watch and demoralizing to the other team, they help our D as well. Have we had any this year?

I think GT could pass more.
1. It keeps defenses honest & guessing
2. Helps with the timing for pass necessity downs.
3. Creates big plays
4. Massivess our skill positions
5. Opens up the run

I need further clarification re: your point 4. I can usually work through typos or misspellings, but not this time.

Don't think we have had a single one :(
And that's been our problem. Let's hope we can put together a few on Saturday.

What I want is a game like we had against Vandy. That was our only complete game this year. Something like that - Ugag is a better team - would win the game. A big play or two would help, but we need to grind a bit to win this one.

We had over a 6 minute drive against BC for our first drive.

Against mercer we had two drives over 6 minutes one resulted in a TD and the other a fumble.

There were none against vandy or Clemson.

We had one drive over 6 minutes against Miami.

We had over a 6 minute drive against Pitt that resulted in nothing and over an 8 minute drive that resulted in a field goal.

Over a 6 minute drive against GSU.

None against duke.

A field goal against UNC that took over 6 minutes.

Over a 7 minute drive that resulted in a field goal against VT

And none against Virginia.

Now I know most of these aren't the 7 and 8 minute drives, but 6 minutes is a lot of time.

In the 2004 Emerald Bowl Johnson's Navy team played New Mexico and consumed almost the entire 4th quarter, about 14 minutes, and got a field goal. No surprise, they won. But it remains the NCAA record for one possession. To most that might seem a boring drive, but just imagine how many short yardage runs and how many 3rd and 4th down conversions Navy had to make and the building tension as Navy began to put the game away ... and New Mexico was helpless. I wish I had seen that.

Thanks for the numbers.
Imo passing calls post gsu have greatly improved this year. Would love to see it just a part of death march, but am satisfied coach has this fixed ( unless we play clemson type defense and dc). We are using it in non obvious downs (3&12 , 2&1).

Lets pretty pretty pretty please get the lead over uga early and keep it. Then we might not have to throw it at all except when we want to throat stomp em.

My keys to the game, winning turnover battle and playing from ahead with the lead. I think playing from ahead will cause them to play tight and help us win turnover battle.
