Impressive considering College of Charleston football is undefeated since the 50sI watched part of their video game with College of Charleston. Somehow, Western Carolina managed to score a bazillion points with a zillion yards despite 4 turnovers. Other than a quarterback who can throw the ball and receivers that appear to be able to go get it, there was nothing much to see. Both teams moved the ball but Western was able to overcome their turnovers because their quarterback had a clean pocket most of the time. He won't have one Saturday. I think Tech wins by 4 or 5 touchdowns. Sorry Cats, no video game on Saturday.
We are going to waltz into our own stadium and whip WC.Anyone who thinks we are just going to waltz into our own stadium and whip WC is not paying attention. Western Carolina is going to score points. Clemson did not throw the ball down the field because they didn’t need to and they didn’t trust their QB. That isn’t the case with WC. They are going to attack us up field and we have no idea if we can deal with that. Last year we obviously couldn’t. I’m hoping this year we can but we are going to be tested by a legit confident offense. Remember the UCF game? I’m expecting us to win, but I am putting nothing past our current head coach.
Yeah, I don't get your point.I'm sorry but like having THREE straight 3-9 seasons was a fluke.--- 2 maybe but 3?--you got to be kidding
I forgot about that! Thanks for letting me knowWe have turf now. Not concerned about the field.
You are correct. I got those names mixed up. There are a slew of colleges in the low country playing football. The Citadel, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, etc. Whoever it was it was an entertaining game to watch even though I only saw the highlights. Good catch! Upon further review, it was Charleston Southern. You don't suppose there is a Charleston Northern hanging around do you?Impressive considering College of Charleston football is undefeated since the 50s
Western Carolina's game with Charleston Southern (hat tip to Juice) was something else. The two teams combined for 90 points, over 1,000 yards total offense and if that were not enough nearly 200 yards in penalties. Western Carolina passed for 433 yards on the way to a 600 yard total offense day. Their main guy is Raphael Williams who had 10 catches ( I wonder if that is some kind of WCU record) for 112 yards and a TD. Pressure on the quarterback should bring those gaudy stats down in a big way Saturday. It should be noted that Charleston Southern's quarterback passed for nearly 400 yards himself and the Bucs scored 38 points. This should be a one sided game in favor of Tech but Kerwin Bell will have his guys throwing that ball to the end.Well I could still be a time traveler - my prediction last week in the prediction thread was a tough loss, but read more from FutureMidtownJacket™ who was sent from the future to bring solace to our oft beleaguered fans:
Week 2, Mount the Catamounts: same but in reverse we let out the aggression from knowing we are a better team than last year and play with a sense of urgency. We show those cats from Western Carolina that dry rubbed pork > mustard BBQ and stomp the little guys. No longer shall we be beaten by the sisters of the poor teams. So hear me, we shan’t do that again. Also the OL situation starts to come together as the transfers gel (hopefully we will have picked up some more help in the portal but they missed the spring so are coming up to speed).

Ok, we’ll compare the stats after the game and see. DJ was 19 for 32 with 210 yards and 1 TD with an offense loaded with 3 and 4 stars around him. I guarantee you that Carlos Davis will have more passing yards and more TD’s with a roster full of no stars supporting him.i’m sorry but western carolina’s qb is not better than dj u. you really lost me there
I hope you are correct. We could all use a good butt kicking type game to relax and actually enjoy a game in Bobby Dodd.We are going to waltz into our own stadium and whip WC.
That being said, I don't think this team is going to be looking past WCU, so that condition (waltzing), will probably not be met. But, we will whip WCU. They may or may not score points. I rather doubt they will. We will see.

Yeah, I don't get your point.
BTW, we didn't have THREE straight 3-9 seasons. But you carry on.
Something to watch out for is the attitude of the team. From the stands, it appeared to me as though the coaches were acting like it was a scrimmage game. It seemed as though they were more interested in practicing plays and didn't adjust to losing until it was too late in the game. During the NIU game, the players were lackadaisical in subbing onto and off of the field. Another game in another year that the team appeared to be treating the game as a practice game.Doesn’t work that way. We will destroy WKU. We would destroy Charleston Southern and absolutely obliterate the Citadel. Losing to the Citadel 3 years ago was a fluke.

I expect that we will win, and I expect that we will win big. However with the way the team has approached lesser teams over the past few years I won't be shocked if it is a contest late in the game. I hope that they actually treat it as a game instead of a scrimmage.
Need Help Please.
