Kanell was asked: What team will we be talking about in December that we are not talking about today? His answer....Georgia Tech. This was on CFB Live today.

My early predictions:
ACC - two teams with one loss out of Tech, FSU, Clemson.
Big 12 - Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, and Texas are going to wreck Baylor/TCU's season. 2 loss champ
Big - Michigan St champ with one loss, OSU one loss
PAC - too many average teams beating on each other. Oregon two losses
SEC - UF, UT, A&M, and Arky are going to dash some hopes. Two loss champ.
ND - one loss to Tech makes playoffs
ND, Tech, Michigan St, OhioSt make playoffs. One can dream anyway.

I like your boldness, but I think you're wrong about ND. I predict 3+ losses for them. We'll see.

I also think HardBaw will have Mich in the hunt right away.

I don't believe in the Pac12, but I think the title goes South.

In this system, I seriously doubt there will ever be two from the same conference. It is still fun to dream though. Can you imagine the Special Ed Conf weeping and gnashing of teeth?

I heard some guys on ESPN radio say that a two loss sec champ will be in the playoffs and maybe even a three loss team because the conference is so good. It's was Darie and Mel show I believe. Whoever was filling in for Mel went crazy and told Darie that would never happen. If sec gets left out we will have a 8 or 16 team playoff the next year!

While I don't think it's out of the question that a 2-loss team can get in (most likely from the SEC), there is not a chance in hell that a 3-loss team gets into a four-team playoff. The 2-loss thing almost happened last year.

A while back, I was going rounds with somebody about how the media still calls our offense the "triple option" and here is another prime example. The guy on the right says, and I quote:

"They've got their quarterback back, one of the best in the game at running that Paul Johnson triple option attack..."
And for the record, it doesn't bother me that they do that. It gives us an identity which is something we sorely need.

And yes, the guy on the left says "hate that option" and make a creeps-me-out body gesture to boot. Now I hate that guy.

Only over a 2 loss conference champ in my opinion and even then, that's a maybe. I really look at the championship games as the 1st round of the playoffs, and I think the committee does too. A team would have to be indisputably impressive to get into the CFP without a CG victory. B12, ND, BYU; are you listening?

Triple option attack sounds so much better than triple option offense. I may be wrong, but I guess the official name is "flexbone option." But in regards to identity, triple option attack sounds less technical and cooler (if not really accurate). Kind of like "Air Raid."

CPJ calls his offense, "Spread Option," if you want was is probably its "official name." Triple-option is one play. Flexbone is one formation.

Of course, Triple-Option (Inside Veer) from the flexbone is our bread and butter and base play. Everything else builds off of it. So, I wouldn't have a problem with people calling it a triple-option offense except that you have bozo announcers talking trying to identify the three options during different plays.

Me too. And now I want to see OK St crash and burn this year...just to make it more obvious what a boob he is.
