@Wake Sat 2/4 on ACCN

There's a saying on the football side of this board, "GT can't have nice things". It alludes to the fact every time something good happens for us, something bad follows. I was beginning to get that feeling as soon as all these writers and media outlets began giving us good pub. To be fair, it's just one game, and we had some health issues to deal with in a venue that's notoriously tough for us.

We're not going to win every game, especially on the road in the ACC. I'm just happy that we've got a team that feels like we COULD win on any given night and we feel disappointed when we don't. Much better than being apathetic. Such a 180 from the mind prep I had of being disappointed all season.
We have lost there 12 straight times. I have given up hope of ever winning in that gym again. We could have 5 NBA HOF players and would still lose in that gym.

Wake should win pretty handily given all the illness and injuries for Tech. Still, if Okogie and Tadric can both get hot then you never know. Probably need a few unlikely shots made by Heyward and McCormick as well. Frankly, if Tech finds a way to win this game it will arguably be the most impressive win this season.

Ogbonda isn't there yet. His defensive rotation is a step slow and I've only seen the slow half hook on offense. He does have potential at rebounding the basketball but he doesn't get great position and doesn't have the athleticism Ben does. There are some building blocks though. He has the size to be a good back up. I think this could be a horror show for us if he has to play more 3-4 minutes against Collins. Maybe we can match him up with Moore (If Sly even plays) and steal a few.

This game needs to be full of TJ and JO going to the line. Those breaks should help Lammers extend his minutes significantly.

We likely have to play zone to hide Lammers and injured players. If Wake has an off day shooting we have a shot. If we have to go man it will take a Herculean effort

Expect Wake to play the same saggy man or zone to make us have to show we can shoot the ball. I would. If TJ and/or JO can find ways to get to the line that would be a godsend.

We have to eliminate any fast break or easy baskets for them, keep the score down and close and then hope someone makes a play late.

I'm not a betting man, but that seems like it's nearly a lock of the year pick.
I thought the same when we were 10.5 dogs at Clemson. I think this is one of those bets I made with my heart. Not my head. We have a lot of guys hurt or sick. We could get blown out or scrap our way to a close W.

Here's the AJC preview: http://georgiatech.blog.ajc.com/2017/02/04/4-things-to-know-before-georgia-tech-wake-forest/. It covers the wrist injury too, but thin coverage. Guess everyone's writing for the Superbowl.

And WRAL, because they cover some ACC basketball there: http://www.wralsportsfan.com/weekend-acction-coach-k-back-must-wins-sexy-offense-and-more/16491214/ and http://www.wralsportsfan.com/colleges/video/16503152/. Kinda sparse on WF and GT.

From the Rumble Seat did a bit better: http://www.fromtherumbleseat.com/20...-game-preview-yellow-jackets-road-wake-forest and the WF equivalent previewed the game at http://www.bloggersodear.com/2017/2...mers-john-collins-josh-okogie-bryant-crawford.

General consensus is that Wake should win. So, we don't have to worry about being favorites any more ;) Got a shot at this one, though. Wake blogger said they're great on offense, but we're great on defense, and we're horrible on offense but they're equally horrible on defense. Hopefully a fun game and my fingers crossed for a win.
