Hate this mindset

hate all you want but there is a reason most of us long time fans have it. In the grand scheme of things, we really haven't played VT long enough to have a meaningful rivalry with them (although the game matters when we are in contention for a divisional title) and Duke, although decent at times sporadically, most of us old-timers can't get fired up by beating Duke in the fall. We consider that as a given (although Cut has done a decent job over there). As Paul says, iiwis.

Tech forums are full of people complaining about how UGA treats them like little brothers then they turn around and proclaim the other thing that matters is beating UGA.

We probably would have gotten the 3:30 slot IF we had won yesterday

Maybe if Virginia Tech had also won but just one of us winning may have been a deal killer for 3:30. Certainly for both of us losing that was pretty much the ball game. 12:30 it is. As long as it does not rain, I think we have a chance but we will have to play better than we have in quite a while.

We had to win 2/4 to make a bowl.

Obviously the path of least resistance was UVA and Duke.

But it’s not impossible to think we beat VT and Duke (and the dwags of course).

Just not excited about either 5-6 or 6-5 with an invite to the Toilet Bowl. If we had controlled Virginia, dominated them, one could have had hope for wins against both Vt and Duke and maybe felt like we might give a UGa a game. Now? Our game with Georgia won’t be competitive (rather like 2015 was) except they have a better offense this year...so even your best case is 6-5. Woo-hoo!

It’s certainly not the season anyone wanted but we have three (possibly four) games left. Might as well make the best of it. If nothing else, hopefully we can get some confidence going into next season.

Past is past. Can’t change it.

They have three more chances to get a win this season. I’d damn sure rather them win those than lose them!
